The blue stripes remind me of contractor tape. Please tell me it serves a similar purpose and won't be on the finished product.

Chestnut is turning into the city's premier residential and retail street. Of course Walnut, but higher-end stores. I'd like to see some more complementary residential and retail on Market join 1919 Market. Centre Square on Market between 15th and 16th is up for sale. If demand is there, I'd like to see one of the towers repurposed as a residential tower. Between that and 2100 Market (if it gets off the ground), we'll really see the death of the business-only district in Philadelphia. Mixed use districts just make more sense and allow better mix of retail and restaurants that makes both office workers and residents in the location happy.

I LOVE the look of the Comcast braces. Really completes the building.

They're already being and have been removed in many spots...

Correct, the blue tape comes off as work is completed. Those 3 braces now completed were covered in blue tape on Monday - now gone. No worries- blue tape will disappear.

I was concerned that this would have an excessively "industrial" look, what with all of the cross-bracing. I think it's very attractive. I'm put in mind of the late WTC every time I'm near this for some reason.

I mentioned before that I like the idea of 'capping' it with solar panels. The blue would create a river like effect.

The transition to this section seemed to go a bit slowly, but now that they're putting up repetitive smaller floor plates, it's finally taken off.

will there be horizontal "braces" in that middle section? Looks almost like the glass is staged, like the diagonals were.

Guessing that the blue Contractor Tape is peeled off that section, I would assume NO. Here is one of the only renderings of that spot. It doesn't look like they will be added, although that was a good question.

Oh. I think it may have looked nice to continue those sharp lines in that middle section, but still looks good either way. I'm going to head up there in a few minutes to see the bracing up close.
