Excellent! Not really a surprise as they have doing the shoring for the past 4/5 months.

Good, I shall withdraw my (unwarranted) skepticism/pessimism as soon as the excavators begin.

Also, did anyone mention the sight of activity at One Yonge, as reported at UT?

I drove by there yesterday and didn't see any activity, though to be fair I wasn't looking in close detail.

Really?

Have they even started sales yet?

This is a monster project so I am looking forward to seeing it begin.

Definitely could be the case if the same owner rents out both the residential and mechanical portions. The code will still require separate systems for both though.

I have no idea, but UTers are speculating that phase one (the 67-storey tower) is getting underway.

Yea, UT people are saying the parking lot in that area for the first tower is being fenced off......so people are thinking the first phase is coming quite soon from now.

Yes i went over to UT, and because the sales centre is inside the Toronto Star building, they are fencing off for the first phase tower. So excellent news, to have potentially another 200+ meter tower on the list cause we are getting some completions that are depleting the list of the taller towers.

At first I wasn't a fan of losing the the other tower and large curved podium but I think I actually prefer the towers have more independent interaction with the street. Also do we have any high res renders of the Toronto Start building re-clad?

So Phase one is on the left here correct?

Doubtful Pinnacle will be developing them so it's fair to say the office towers are stand ins anyways. Someone else will develop them on behalf of Pinnacle or Pinnacle will sell the development blocks to a commercial developer. Lastly, they may attempt to rezone them residential five plus years from now.

That's the best render I've seen of the One, would love to see that on the west end of our skyline here!

The tower is okay. The disconnect to the podium base doesn't really help in the urbanity department though. It's being built in a wasteland so it isn't as crucial but, man, they could have done so much better.

I hate that the north side of the tower on the left is split with balconies. Keep them on two sides of the building and make the others clean curtainwall. Won't happen though, especially in this location where views are going to be one of the main selling points.

AS long as the podium offers some retail and does something to activate that plaza, it doesn't seem to bad to me.
