Where's Waldo's? Did the project get scrapped? It's not listed here. Press from last November said that Hilton's Motto broke ground at Waldo's 11/14/2019. I've been very excited about the design & services/business that this density and mix can bring to the neighborhood. No update is listed on their site.

Cool project, I hope it's still on

The ground breaking was ceremonial. I haven’t seen any construction on site, though haven’t been by since the beginning of the pandemic. I also hope to see it progress (in addition to several other nearby projects).

Crescent Communities seeks to build 340 apartments in West Midtown

https://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/news...tments.html?iana=hpmvp_atl_news_headline
Quote:
Developer Crescent Communities has plans to build a new apartment development on Fairmont Avenue near the Atlanta BeltLine, a project that would continue to reshape the area undergoing rapid changes from industrial to residential and mixed-use.

The new 340-unit multifamily development is planned in the Blandtown neighborhood and is dubbed NOVEL West Midtown.

Crescent Communities filed the rezoning application for the project with the city of Atlanta in early March, shortly before the coronavirus pandemic hit Georgia and the state’s housing market started taking deep cuts.

The 340-apartment proposed development is included in the Atlanta BeltLine Overlay District, which requires at least 10% of new units be designated affordable housing.

Glad to see more going in over in Blandtown! Nice location for infill. Wish they’d build out local trails in the area until they can connect to the WST & NST BeltLine.

Agreed. I’m a little dumbfounded when I see new residential price points, especially for projects outside Midtown and other main hubs.

My guess is by the time they open, the near by part of Howell Mill will be a top destination in the metro with all that new construction.

And it is likely we will continue to see growth all the way from Marietta Blvd & Chattahoochee Ave down towards Northside & Marietta St. That section has a lot of industrial space and parcels that are surface parking or one story buildings that could be redeveloped. It could quickly run away with being one of the must populous areas in the metro. And surprisingly it’s only served by a couple infrequent bus routes.

Also West Marietta, as it will lead to the north side of the Westside Park. It has two lanes, unlike Huff Road.

The park view image looks amazing. I can't believe some people wanted to keep that shed. Hopefully we see another nice project on that corner. Would fill in nicely.

The only project that makes sense on that corner is a supertall global corporate transplant.

$100 million redevelopment proposed for downtown site

https://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/news...ion-redevelopment-of-a-contaminated.html
Quote:
A plan to convert the former Simmons Plating Works site near downtown Atlanta's Garnett MARTA station is up for almost $5 million in property tax breaks.

Fulton County development authority officials are scheduled to consider the incentive Tuesday. The project could feature approximately 356 apartments, including 53 affordable housing units, according to a summary from the Development Authority of Fulton County.

The $100 million proposed project could also include just over 13,500 square feet of commercial and retail space.

The site at 395 and 409 Whitehall Street is owned by an affiliate of San Francisco-based Eagle Environmental Construction. It appears Eagle Environmental is overseeing the project, though it's unclear if it is already working with an apartment developer behind the scenes. Farrington Design Group is the architect, according to plans submitted to the city of Atlanta.

SPI planning permit filed for mixed use project at 730 Echo Street. Beltline adjacent on the westside. The parcel was rezoned from industrial to "Mixed Residential Commercial/BeltLine Overlay" in 2018.

Initial building permits (multifamily land development) were filed for two large townhome developments near the city border.
169 townhomes at 3332 Empire St SW, right next to the border with Hapeville.
45 townhomes at 296 Dilbeck NE, right next to border with Sandy Springs.
