Is the old Tudor house at the corner of Wilmot also part of this project? It’s been boarded up since it was hit by the bus.

Yes, it's gone as of yesterday.

I think this is where the new Subway location will be. The address is 445 Stradbrook Ave. It looks like they are opening up the side wall for maybe a new entrance or a patio, not really sure.

It sucks that the main intersection has become the worst place to be in the village. It should be the focal point of the area.

Anyone know if the City has sold the lot at 145 Osborne St yet? The soil remediation work happened last year and the property is being used as a parking lot again.

I haven’t heard anything but I really hope something happens to that lot soon. It looks worse now than it did before the soil remediation. At then it was a paved parking lot.

Subway sign is up now at 445 Stradbrook. Hopefully the vacant unit where Tokyo Smoke used to be will get filled soon.

The site at 51 Roslyn Road is now being cleared. Sorry for the sideways photo.

It would be nice if Mac’s or circle k or whatever it is called now moved over there and then its current building would be empty and ready for demo lol. Macs sells the same stuff as shoppers and Safeway so it would be nice to have those three businesses spread out a little bit.

Completely agree, doubt it will happen though.

The new building at 414/418 Gertrude Ave was approved by the Community Committee with no one registered in opposition. I would guess that this project will move through the rest of City Hall without any issues.

There's a fair bit of commercial space available in the village right now.

In addition to the CRUs in the newly-built buildings (Zu and Osborne Terraces), I think there are 3 CRUs available in the old Kiss/City FM building. And, there's probably 8+ other currently vacant CRUs, not counting upper floor commercial units: Former A&W, Shakti, Starbucks, Take Care, Toyko Smoke, Watson Workshop, Willow).

I'm honestly not sure. Maybe someone else can chime in.

I took a walk around the neighbourhood tonight, tons of people out. The bikes lanes are getting lots of use too. Honestly the main issue with Osborne Village is just that Osborne St itself sucks because there is so much traffic and the sidewalks are so narrow. The rest of the neighbourhood is doing pretty well. Here are some construction updates from around the neighbourhood.
