I though the building went up only 68 floors.
A lot of highrises skip certain numbers due to cultural superstitions when labeling floor counts.

They made that illegal over 10 years ago in Vancouver. For fire safety reasons. Turns out firefighters would like to know what floor they are actually on, not some made up number so some owners don't feel unlucky having a 4 in their floor number.

I think you’re right from certain perspectives. Montreal has seen a surge of new high-rises, but from other vantage points the skyline still has a more unique look, with a more irregular mix of building heights.

Was looking up some info on the history of the Montreal height limit, and this image popped up.

Sorry it's so big.

I love Montreal, I've never had a bad time in that city, even when I was almost mugged at "knife point".

"Starting" perhaps. But it's a ways off imo since the tallest buildings still have enough space between them as to show their individual height. But it could certainly get to that point if it keeps adding towers in that same 200ish metre height range.

Capitalist superstitions; properties would be harder to sell or rent on floor 13 or 44, etc., but as someone noted, it's now illegal to skip floor numbers in Vancouver. This is to avoid confusion for firefighters etc..
