Personally I was happy to hear The One was already at 55%, a much higher a number then I thought they would be only 3 months in, less then that if you take the holiday season into the equation.

What does it matter if it's Edmonton or Toronto? Toronto is bigger but, there's also may more projects competing to be heard. I haven't been comparing Stantec to one of these tower that sells out before the public offering like the first Ice District tower either.

Ah the old jealousy wannabe speculating a billionaire is going broke . Selling 2 buildings for a billion in which he spent half of that building is a true sign he is going broke and not possibly building up his net worth . He started his empire on 50 g hardly a stupid man , and common sense would say build low sell high rinse and repeat , so I am sure Katz is pretty happy with his switch from pharma to Real Estate just as you're pretty happy being a internet troll

Because I'm a fan myself. The overwhelming majority of forumers and lurkers aren't like you. They don't heckle people because they have an opposing viewpoint to their own. It was a fucking joke. What's more telling is your full on support of a billionaire that is making even more billions on property tax revenues and a lucrative lease arrangement with the city. He delivered on the Ice District and that deserving of devine devotion?

I don't know how smart Katz is. I certainly don't base a person's intelligence on financial success. It's easy if you have the starting capital which the majority of people don't. There's an unlimited number of those people that will help you in achieving financial success in areas where you don't have a clue how to proceed.

While I agree with the first part as well, this really needs to be pressed. It's by no means something specific to the Ice District, but big developers get huge subsidies, tax breaks or other incentives all the time. Sometimes it works out for the betterment of the city which is great, and sometimes it's a boondoggle. The narrative of the benevolent self made billionaire is rarely true.

The last thing they come here for is to encounter immature meltdowns and name calling because you few guys disagree with something.

Does it even compute how incredibly ignorant skyisnolimits post is? You can't control the actions of others. What would he do if some drunk driver slammed into him leaving him out of work and escalating medical bills without our social net. And speaking of our social net, its basic economics that you get the most bang for your buck this way as governments aren't in it to profit and they have the scale and purchasing power

I can't speak for itom but I don't believe I represent the forum over common interests. That sounds a lot like you. Don't you find it remarkable how you can't go a day without disparaging people and getting into these frivolous disputes? You seem to like to argue just for the hell of it, you also seem to think you are faultless 100% of the time. For some reason you love to keep dropping my name and a few others and yet claim not to troll the forum.
