That stretch of Church Street has been ramshackle and dreary for as long as I can remember. With all the density slowly being added, hopefully the roadway/public realm will be fixed. Maybe by 2040? I've waited 23 years so far. What's another 16?

Sugar Wharf Condominiums (Phase 2) | 299m | 90s | Menkes | a—A l site prep/heritage retention nearly complete

The site from above, just left of centre. Now that site prep/heritage retention is nearly complete, I wonder if Menkes will continue to site shoring etc., well before the usual sales threshold has been achieved… as they did with Phase 1’s 2 residential towers.

If not…throw down some sod and open a waterfront cricket pitch ;-).

Some new images and news.

Amazing space inside the tower’s crown. The tower is designed by AS+GG who also designed 160 Front West/TD Terrace with its unique crown.

Some nice curtain-wall glass going in (rare for most condos)… maybe their collaboration with music artist Pharrell leaked into the exterior? I'm "Happy".

Yes architects AS+GG are behind a number of slick residential/mixed-use towers downtown. The 2 below are south of Bloor Street:

Royal Ontario Museum - OpenROM Project | Siamak Hariri

Fueled by by a $50-million donation from the Hennick Family Foundation (the largest cash gift in ROM’s history), OpenROM includes an architectural transformation of the Museum’s main floor and a redesigned Bloor Street entrance. Highlights include large founatains wrapping around the heritage ROM building, an expansive bronze canopy sheltering the Bloor Street entrance and four-storey atrium capped with a sweeping, high-performance diagrid glass ceiling. Total budget for the reno is $130million.

“OpenROM’s expansive architectural design, coupled with year-round free admission to the Museum’s entire main floor, as well as unlimited access to special programming, live performances, and hands-on activities, will make ROM an even greater cultural anchor and gathering place”.
