I know of a real neat one of the building that is the regions bank now. You just have to go through the achieves to get it. I think the University of South Alabama’s.

Here's an excerpt from Kathy Jumper's column in the Mobile Press Register, Sunday, April 30, 2006

The 250-room Battle House Hotel on Royal Street may open by the end of the year, and tenants are leasing space in the adjacent 35-story RSA Office Tower, according to Ron Blount , project director for the Retirement Systems of Alabama . So far, the highest floors leased are the 31st and 32nd floors, he said. The names of the tenants have not been released. The 80-foot spire should be installed on the 745-foot office tower, via helicopter, in July.

The crown has grown considerably since I was in Mobile two weeks ago. I am impressed. By the way, I've heard the final crowning date is sometime in June or July. Anyone know the real date?

Well, that would be awesome. But, the reality of that happening in the near future is minute.

Arrow Hello Everyone!

What's up, everyone? I have been visiting this site for a couple of years, so I thought it was about time to join in on the fun. I'm a native Mobilian... just bought my first home in Midtown... and am very excited about Mobile's "very awesome" future! Anyway... just wanted to say hello, and hope to have some very stimulating conversation here.

Well, welcome Billy. It is always good to get some more people on here, especially someone from Midtown.
I am a life long mobilian, but am currently in Jackson and Atlanta, so hold down the town for me while I am gone...

The last time I checked, a tri tower condo project is supposed to rise on the riverfront. One at 22 stories, one at 20 stories, and the third at 19 stories.

Thanks for the welcomes... but please, call me Weston.

As far as the $60 million condo projects downtown... the last I heard (which was last month) developers had been contacted... but no word on when construction would begin... or when it is expected to be finished.

In other development news; RSA bought the Adams Mark hotel, and will modify the top with a crown to match the RSA Tower.

I'm sorry, but I just dont like that... the matching crowns part, that is. So that makes what... plans for 2 "mini-RSA" towers? Why not leave the buildings as they are or at LEAST change it up a bit. Next thing you know, RSA will be buying those Waterfront condos only to change their tops to match the RSA crowns.

Seriously though, what do you Mobile folks think about it? It may make the skyline look taller, but do you not have a problem with them trying to tie all your towers together architecturally?
