Sorry! I'm afraid this thread might be cold for a while.
Lets hope not. (or in the case of 'chopping' block, lets hope it stays nice n cold!)

There needs to be a tumbleweed emoticon added to the options when writing a post

Looks like the indiscriminate spending has spread over to the Parks Board where these luxurious Bee SRO’s are being flaunted at a cost of aprox 34 cents per unit.

There could be another tower in the works for downtown with a protruding box.

There is an office tower in the planning stages whose (current) design features a protruding box similar to Shangri-la and Fairmont.

Not sure if this is the one Jlousa is alluding to, but it is still very early in the planning stages and probably won't see the light of day for a couple of years, if ever.

Hmm I think I know the project you are talking about, and apparently so does Phesto if we are all in fact on the same page. I was talking to the owners a few weeks ago and it didn't seem as though they had any plans of moving forward any time soon, although that can change in a second of course.

Does the project you are thinking of perhaps have two protruding boxes on it??

Can't remember, but it isn't that tall (<400 ft) as it's limited by view cones/site size.

Is it just me, or is the protruding box concept kind of getting played out? Of course James Cheng will use the same concepts over and over until someone tells him to stop, but I hope other architects don't follow suit. The box idea is cool if integrated properly - but shouldn't just be added on as an afterthought. Besides, for an office tower a box's practical purpose is limited to extending out the floorplate, since double height isn't practical as it is in residential (where you can charge a lot more psf for units with double height windows).

yes it's a jkmc product, no it's not office.
Location was hinted at many months ago.
Sorry no more details allowed at this point.
