Area west of Downtown Ottawa (LeBreton, Little Italy) is seeing significant growth.

That photo is facing southwest, so.... that's sunset, not sunrise.

I don't think I'd call the sun "rising" in the west a good start ...

I don't know. I could probably stand to sleep most of the day a couple of times for how tired I've been lately.

We're all gonna die due to some cosmic shift and not nuclear war. Maybe that's good?

Another skyline pic of Ottawa. Might not be as beautiful as the first one I posted on this page but pretty nice nonetheless.

I like Ottawa a lot (visit regularly, mostly for work but also sometimes with my family). Its just frustrating because the middle part of that photo shows the foundation of a dramatic and grand capital. But everything around that middle part is just so "bleh".

This photo led me down an interesting rabbit hole. I wanted to know who the architect of the Canadian Museum of History was and discovered that Douglas Cardinal also designed Saint Mary's church in Red Deer.

He was born in Calgary and grew up just outside Red Deer and is a member of the Siksika nation. Also, he was the first North American architect to use computers to model his buildings and to my eyes appears to have been a major influence on the work of many starchitects. How have I never heard of this man before?

If interested here's his wikipedia page:
