I don't know but they had a 1059 W Georgia address for Moxies

https://plposweb.vancouver.ca/Public/Default.aspx?PossePresentation=Guest&PosseObjectId=290878807

And the reno permit for the pavilion says

Quote:
1059 W Georgia St - 1st Level (Restaurant)
https://plposweb.vancouver.ca/Public/Default.aspx?PossePresentation=Guest&PosseObjectId=99763672

Park Place has a new 4700 sq feet restaurant space downstairs

https://plposweb.vancouver.ca/Public/Default.aspx?PossePresentation=Guest&PosseObjectId=253701389

That's supposed to be 8,000 sq ft, and have a patio, but I haven't seen anything but rumours about where it will be located. Glowbal just say it's in the heart of the financial district, and should open towards the end of the year.

I believe this location was originally to be a Kings Tap. I guess the deal fell through.

The only other space might be that huge one below Bentall but I don't see a building permit for it.

They hired someone from Glowbal in 2022 so maybe it's better now?

Before settling down in Alberta with Moxies, Chef Brandon was head chef at the Michelin-recognized Monachyle Mhor Hotel in Scotland. He opened four restaurants with the Glowbal Group, was asked to create the Canada 150th celebration menu at the James Beard House In 2017 and had his own private Catering Company. Chef Brandon cooked his way through Europe, Ontario, Montreal and British Columbia before he found his place at Moxies in Alberta. Now he’s back in BC, still creating menu magic for Moxies.

The Park Place renos would be the renos I saw earlier in January.

It will be interesting to see how well they perform, given how Tim Hortons has done an incredible job alienating their core demographic who just want a donut and coffee.

Huh? Moxies was founded here as part of the Northland Properties stable of hotel chains, restaurants and sports teams, owned by the Gaglardi family.

Wherever it's from, the food ain't good.

Might be a good place to grab an after work drink, but definitely a disappointment for that location.

Popeye's is closing the first location it opened in Vancouver, the one in the CBC building. Funny how nothing stays there, you think its location would be a successful draw.

That's surprising! They must have another location or two downtown up their sleeve. There's been some rapid growth in Metro Vancouver over the last couple of months with a few new locations:
- Burquitlam
- North Vancouver
- South Burnaby

I mean it's literally the worst combination as a retail tenant. They give you the worst signage opportunity so most people walking by don't know there's anything there. And the foot traffic is still on the low end.

It's a very weird location, across the street from the ass-side of the library.

Maybe a high profile coffee shop could make it, Starbucks level. Or a McDonald's.

There's a McDonalds on that block already. And JJ Bean didn't do enough business on the CBC Plaza to stay there either. It's not obvious who would be able to succeed.

The CBC doesn't seem to allow any meaningful signage.
The small Popeyes/Triple O's blade signs were barely noticeable.

yeah I noticed that when I passed the other day, if you're driving east on Georgia you really can't tell what it is. It's easily missed. Maybe a bunch place like Pur & Simple or Cora might work there? there are some nearby hotels with people looking to eat.

It really is geared more to foot traffic than drivers. Right on the route for people coming off the Canada Line or bus from the North Shore and walking down to BC Place or Rogers Arena. Plus office lunch crowd.
