Have you also learned that secret from the river; that there is no such thing as time? That the river is everywhere at the same time, at the source and at the mouth, at the waterfall, at the ferry, at the current, in the ocean and in the mountains.-Hermann Hesse

Geothermal upgrades in The Geothermal City #Downtown #HoTWater

Coincidentally, Idaho has the greatest number of soakable hot springs in the nation.

I was up there as well with the fam and had an excellent time floating the best whitewater I've experienced. Beautiful city with impressive green spaces.

Boisedev just posted an interesting article showing the downtown growth from the 80s to today. Boise definately was a parkinglot city back then (like many other American cities unfortunately) Love to see more and more surface parking lots get redevloped!

Boise ~ City of Parks

This is great and I can attest because of spending a lot of time in our parks with my dog, hence taking pics I post here. Boise Parks & Rec does a great job, especially the large parks with hundreds of green acres that line downtown along the river! We are a top ranked city in the nation for our city parks, in the top 20 of the most populated cities.

And now we are currently the top dog for dogs.

That 1980s photo brings back memories...the Grove area was definitely a dead spot then, and Downtown overall was much quieter. The Statesman was full of articles about how/whether Downtown would ever get revitalized.

It did have some nice highlights like the 8th Street Marketplace, Old Boise, the Capitol, etc. The Greenbelt wasn't as integrated with the core but it was (and is) arguably the best urban feature of any city period.

I also have a warm spot for my first real jobs, washing dishes at the Blue Note Cafe (in an old house on State) and Le Poulet Rouge (Old Boise)...

Rumored 40 story tower would be built directly to the South of the AC Hotel? Also, can you add more to the rumor? Condos, apartments, offices? Anything connection to Micro?

I don't think anyone has updates about this rumor.

This article gives some insight.
