When I say City of Burnaby, I also refer to its citizenry.
it's actually the merchants and commercial property landowners between Boundary and Alpha (Gamma maybe?) that organize and pay for it via the BIA. The lights on Cambie are done the same way as many others are around the city.

There is no BIA west of Boundary until you hit Hastings Sunrise.

as for the other street decorations like banners, flowers, benches, murals, this is also paid for by the BIA.

BIA are generally self funded (over 90+%) but sometimes do get grants or help for certain projects.

EDIT! I stand corrected. the old lights were paid by the BIA. These new ones were a gift from the City. And apparently, this is going to be a year round pilot project! cool and thanks burnaby

The floor plans are really terrible on those plans. These prices should also include at least one parking.

Unfortunately the new LED box on the 40-floor tower in front hasn't been on for the last few weeks so didn't capture it in my photo. I am sure it will be once people move in.

I have also yet to see any light feature on top of TAB towers.
Thanks.
If the lines atop the Amazing Brentwood Towers are not lights, then it must be the exposure, as the vertical lines on Triomphe are fainter than the lines atop the TAB towers.

By City of Rain Dec 1st.

RBC in the bottom of the stacked cubes...
So the banks are all at grade (not sterilizing the plaza).
In the last pic you can see the mounts for the Sporting Life video screen.

Good eye! I was starting to doubt if they were still going to go through with that large screen. Would be a great addition!

So disappointed that corner ground floor space is taken by RBC. This CRU is suitable for retail with nice display areas. Even a well-lit cafe would've been nice, but certainly not a bank. RBC needs to depart from its traditional bank window set up to make this corner look good.

Banks are pretty busy though, it will draw people down to that area.

I was going to say the same thing.

It's a prime people driving by and looking out the window at a red light spot but most people are driving to this mall or taking the Skytrain. If it was a prime spot someone else would have paid through the nose for it.

In my opinion I think it's a good spot for the bank, better than a clothing retailer because theres too much separation from the high street, which is where most of the retailers will be located.

Somehow I always thought RBC will take that spot, just like many RBC locations. Broadway/Cambie, Cambie/Marine, Hastings/Main, Renfrew/1st Ave, Granville/Broadway. The number one bank in Canada should have a prominent presence in Brentwood.

Drove by the sight yesterday. There is a line of white LEDs around the elevator core of one of the TAB towers.

Put parking preferences in your pre-sale agreement. I've done it multiple times.

That is a disappointment for sure.

Might have to do with the zoning by-law language in Burnaby is still suburban. Banks I think used to be classified as "Service" in the retail subcategory for commercial in Vancouver, and are now classified as "Office", where office is greatly discouraged at the ground level or in prominent locations (corners). I've never really encountered that level of categorization and specificity / regulation in Burnaby.
