I’m done,lol. But Corona effects dining and everything else in this world. The main thing is that we are supporting these businesses, if you’re not comfortable dining in yet, hopefully you’re all doing take out. I don’t know what makes people feel safe touching everything in a grocery store but not ordering from a restaurant. Throw your food in the microwave for 20 seconds if you’re scared. Be safe everyone, and support our restaurants.

Just looking at AZ Central and Alamo Drafthouse has filed Chapter 11. This is sad, that's by far my favorite place to watch a movie. The food isn't too bad and I like their beer menu.

This appears to apply only to Arizona franchises and not the chain as a whole. When I look at Alamo's corporate website, though, I find no listing of locations. That tells me that others may be in jeopardy and are not guaranteed to reopen as restrictions are lifted.

The movie theater opening is a funny issue. Hollywood slowed their releases and theaters are pretty conducive to spreading germs. Most theaters in Arizona have already said they will open when they are ready, which is not now.

First, there was the freak-out over the crowd at C.A.S.A., and now there's even more absurd pearl clutching over Governor Ducey and associates dining at Pita Jungle. I usually respect this reporter's work, but this article is ridiculous. The whole point of visiting a restaurant is to eat and drink, which can't be done while wearing a mask.

I went to Ladera last night, no one had a mask aside from employees. I also wonder why there would be an expectation for diners to wear a mask.

I bet you know this but Chapter 11 is reorganization, not liquidation. I would expect movie theaters to be doing this, not just Alamo. No guarantee they're gone yet or will remain closed as places reopen.

Bankruptcy is still bankruptcy, there's no indication that filing chpt 11 is going to result in a continuation of business. The owner was quoted as being "hopeful".

That’s good news, ABC 15 just said Lucky Strike is not opening back up, another casualty. I feel like Roosevelt Row is going to power through this pretty well, but with no sports for a long while, no fans at least, and most people that work downtown will probably continue to work from home for a while, the CityScape area will suffer a lot. They need to start a big campaign to get people downtown. Something like, even though the theatres and stadiums have nothing going on, we still have a great environment for a night out to eat and drink, maybe some live music at Copper Blues.

Tbh I was always amazed lucky strike lasted as long as it did

A couple of kids who have worked for me really liked Lucky Strike and said it was really busy on the weekends, never went personally.

So one bowling alley that closed before it opened and another one closing that probably shouldn't have (Lucky Strike was always busy when I went there).

On that note, I rode by Punch Bowl today and the place looks gorgeous. I was really hoping to be able to check it out. I really hope someone picks up the franchise and opens it.

I walked by Angel's Trumpet Downtown today and noticed employees on site for the firs time in a while. I called them and they are opening back up June 2.

With its big patio, Angels Trumpet seems a good choice for customers who are tentative in their return to on-site dining. As the Derby's construction progresses, there may be more shade.

Churchill has reopened so we drove down to visit Captain Hamburger for lunch - we love their chopped salad that originally appeared at Cowboy Ciao - but it is the latest COVID casualty. Will not be reopening.
