In-progress Gaylord project already expanding
February 8, 2017 BY BRANDON JOHANSSON - Aurora Sentinel
Quote:
Looming over otherwise desolate eastern plains south of Denver International Airport, the future home of the Gaylord Rockies hotel and conference center is starting to take its massive shape.

And as hundreds of construction workers hammer away at the hulking structure in advance of a 2018 opening, officials say another adjacent project is just starting to build up.
What's new?
Quote:
It’s too early for a timeline for the adjacent hotels, Mitchell said, but the goal is usually for them to be up and running “fairly quick” after Gaylord opens its doors.

Rida Development Corp., the lead developer behind Gaylord, late last year purchased 130 acres near Gaylord for $9.23 million, according to the Colorado Real Estate Journal. The swath of land is near Himalaya Road and East 64th Ave.
Regatta Plaza Redevelopment
Renamed The Point at Nine Mile is the other project I've tried to follow. It's been in a state of limbo for about year now. Actually a very slow crawl. According to Aurora City Councilman Charlie Ward
Quote:
Constituents continue with good reason to ask about the status of the project. Here is the latest information I have. The City acting through it's Urban Renewal Authority recently (June 19) voted to provide additional monies for pre-development work on the site. The last communication I had with King Soopers was 3 weeks ago. At that time they estimate a beginning of construction during the first half of 2018. The condemnation actions are wrapping up and Excel is finishing up their utility relocation work. The private development firms are marketing the site. On May 10th the Planning Commission approved all six Planning areas on the site.

There will be a future stop across the street at 88th unless it's been axed.

I suppose I should have clarified. I was lamenting the fact that it has been axed for all intents and purposes. Last I checked, the projected completion date was pushed back to 2042 or something ridiculous like that. (But maybe you know something I don't; I haven't read up on it in a while.) This "downtown" would have a much greater chance of success with the rail line and stop.

While that is true, they still may be successful similar to BelMar.

I agree but I could also see this line being extended even if the entire NW corridor is still decades away. There is BRT nearby:

Welcome to the Valley. Though the drug addiction isn't unique to Alamosa.

Minneapolis developer breaks ground on $86 million Westminster apartments
Jul 26, 2017 by Molly Armbrister - Denver Business Journal
Quote:
Minneapolis-based developer Sherman Associates has broken ground on The Ascent, an $86 million apartment project in Westminster with 24,000 square feet of ground-floor retail.

The Ascent is going up at Westminster Boulevard and 88th Avenue, in the area of the old Westminster Mall. Ten percent of its 255 units will be reserved for income-restricted tenants.
You gotta give Westminster folk credit for turning down developers interested in purchasing the whole site but wanting to execute a master plan along the lines of what they are used to building in the suburbs as opposed the a highly urbanized vision that City of Westminster insisted on.

Things are picking up
Quote:
The groundbreaking occurred less than a month after the city announced that an Origin Hotel and Marcyzk's Fine Foods will be developed on the mall site — an area that city leaders are referring to as "Downtown Westminster."

Arapahoe County apartment complex fetches near-record per-unit sales price
Jul 26, 2017 by Molly Armbrister - Denver Business Journal
Quote:
Amberley Heights, an apartment complex in the Inverness business park in Arapahoe County, has sold for $38.6 million.

The complex, near the Hilton Denver Inverness hotel, consists of two buildings and 96 units developed by Metropolitan Residential Advisors, a local development firm led by Peter Kudla.
But there's more...
Quote:
“In addition to the sale of Amberley Heights, Metropolitan Residential Advisors is currently building for-sale condominiums and townhomes in Denver’s Crestmoor neighborhood and just completed a 62-acre, transit-oriented site, Vallagio at Inverness, which neighbors the property,” Kudla said.

At Mississippi and Quebec just (east) after the Walgreens there is a fenced off lot. On the fence it says storage units are coming. The crazy thing is the foundation is about 50 ft deep and a crane just went up at the site. So I am wondering if it is going to be like 4 floors underground and another 4 above? lol
