I am aware that it's due to the amount of construction not anything else. To me it's a bit like Mercedes coming up with a new more affordable car and calling it the new ford. It's just tacky and classless to compare them. Most amusing of all, the article makes absolutely no comparisons between the booms of the two cities. Just another head grabbing, space filling article.

Ok I'm done now

Wow, this tower is beautiful! How much are the units in the building?

(BTW, I am new here, so please forgive me in advance if someone has already stated the prices.)

The remaining units are between $900,000 and $20 million.

Although there were units in the 300-400 thousand range when it went on sale initially. -

The developer has made a request for 3 additional floors on the lower levels.

???C'mon??? I dont know what article you referring to. His statement toronto is the new Dubai is simply referring to the amount of construction and nothing else. Even if you dont like Dubai you have to admit that the amount of construction and the fact that they have built the city in about 10 years is remarkable. And now that toronto is building a remarkable amount of buildings more than Dubai at the moment then its the NEW DUBAI. There is absolutely no comparison of the two cities in that statement by Caltrane other than the amount of construction going on. Now is there am article that you read that is comparing the two cities can you post it so I can read it? howeverto call caltrane statment classless and tacky is absurd because it makes perfect sense. Ok Im done now so back on topic.

When is the transfer slab going to be complete and when is this baby going to get moving.

I'm not referring to anything caltrane said. I am referring to the article he's posted as his signature. Click it to read it. If you need to reply please use PM, so we don't sidetrack.

Nah. No controversy I have the upmost respect for everyone on this thread. Just a simple discussion I must have misinterpreted what gravityenemy was saying

So they're done with the transfer floor and on to the tower floors, no? This should start shooting up relatively quickly.

A floor every week and a half to two weeks, I suppose.

Winter is not kind to construction in Toronto. Very little daylight from November to the end of February.

Toronto is the reason why the "Highrise Construction" is my favorite section of the forum! I can't think of another city in the Americas with as much comparable highrise construction.

Aura, in particular, is most exciting. I can't wait to see how it changes the image of Toronto at this point so far inland!

Well we have a few more projects that should be breaking ground shortly, starting with Theatre Park, by the end of November.

Toronto is truly undergoing a massively dynamic stage in regards to city-building. Makes one proud.

Too bad there are so many NIMBY's in Ottawa...there are still many great lots available to be redeveloped into the new NCR's "Tallest" I wish that something taller than 35 Floors was allowed...even if it's not immediately downtown (where it wouldn't be allowed because of the planes of view of the Peace Tower laws)...

Weren't they suppose to add another 3 floors to the building making it 78,what became of that? maybe caltrane can sneak in at night and add those floors... one every 3 or 4 months...Foreman "I could've swore this building was suppose to be 75 floors where the hell did these extra floors come from". It's a shame they didn't break the 80 floor barrier
