Haha, this thread just reminded me that in my younger days I could be quite forward and late one night I asked the girl who served me at this McDonald's if she'd go out with me. She initially said "WTF" but finally agreed!
We then dated for a short while.
The way it has become I can't imagine her working there today, or her parents (or similar parents today) letting a girl like her work in a place like that.
Haven't thought about her in years but I just looked her up on Facebook. She was easy to find. Looks like she has a good life which makes me happy as she was a really nice person.
Sounds like you ordered the adult equivalent of a Happy Meal
Speaking of the McDonalds building on Rideau, does anyone recall, back in the day, the wonderful Cafe Mozart which was on the second floor above McDonalds? They had the most amazing pastries and the decor rivalled that of any Viennese cafe. It had large windows facing the market and played classical music at all times. The city did such a great job renovating 99 Rideau. There were several shops and services upstairs and then I have no idea what happened. Everything shut down and went to pot (literally lol)
I think it looks nice. I am concerned about vandalism (though should fair better than the Chinatown statues) and winter maintenance. Certainly better than other project art installations.
