Well yeah, i did run out of inspiration in Houston, that's a big reason why I moved. And Pittsburgh is only 4 hours from dc and baltimore. Buffalo is 5 and Detroit is 6. Anyways, I was drunk when I said that so disregard my comment.

I was looking around, and found these great shots by Craig Washburn for the 40th anniversary edition of Texas Monthly:

I can't make the damn photos or the site show up, so here's the link:

http://www.craigwashburn.com/texas-m...versary-issue/

Maybe someone who knows what they're doing can help out.

They are natural postcard shots for downtown from a view that's being used more and more as time goes on.

I'd also forgotten the balconies were even there, so we went out and it was great to spend some time in the fresh air. It was at midday on Friday, so there was a lunchtime concert with some really good live jazz going on that really made the moment.

Next time I am in town, I will try and get up there again. Hopefully 1550 will be peeking above the treeline soon enough and I can get some photos as it ascends. The new tower on Crawford is fairly visible but you're limited by the Marriott and Hess. I know it will be even more prominent by then.
