the client posed two basic desires: the need for a home that would host large social gatherings consisting of kids and adults, and at the same time to provide a sheltered, private space for the immediate family. chilean architect ricardo torrejon schellhorn's response in designing the 'CGM house' was to split the dwelling into four individual zones - parents, children, common spaces and services - that can, in terms of scale, accommodate large or small groups. the 5000 m2 site offers a wealth of natural habitat, located on a peninsula 20 km away from the coastline surrounded by a natural water reservoir used for recreational purposes. the 30-degree slope meant the need for a concrete plinth, made with a corrugated texture, that would set the stage for the construct and direct views towards the sea and mountains ahead.

Original Architecture Details and Layout Characterizing Casa Natalia in Mexico

Agraz Arquitectos envisioned and developed Casa Natalia, a 565 square-meter property in Guadalajara, Jalisco, México. The project showcases quite a few original design features,starting with its original layout. A stairway hints the way towards a ground floor area. According to the architects, this particular element also “leads to the main door, which by being separated from the car entrance, leaves a front plaza for the house that dilutes all frontiers between urban and architectonic spaces“.

Gisele Taranto, in collaboration with art curator Mara Fainziliber and lighting designer Maneco Quinderé, has created a Hotel Lounge,as part of “Casa Cor Rio 2012″, the biggest and most important event of national architecture and decoration in Brazil. This year the event took place in Rio de Janeiro at Flamengo district, in a building that was abandoned for many years. Inaugurated as a hotel, it became first a boarding school for a Nursery School and then had its last days of occupancy as lodging for college students. The architecture of the building, with its high ceilings, decoratedwalls, wood stairs and floors, was the inspiration for the conception of the space.

Located in Valle de Bravo lake in Mexico, the project is located on a steep slope, and with boundaries irregular in its geometry.

Bordered by a brook of clear water and by the lake itself, at one very narrow end there is a bridge that provides the only access to the site; the remaining sides are limited by the vegetation of neighbouring constructions and by thick forest.

Water Cleaning Station Converted Into Striking Modern Mansion

Proving that industrial design elements can successfully be integrated in home design, this striking loft-like residence is the result of a water cleaning station conversion. The 5,400 square foot 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom loft belongs to former Belgian army pilot Philippe Tondeur and is located in Villefranche sur Mer on the French Riviera. The massive transformation of the water station took almost 15 years to complete and its modern design was envisioned with the help of Belgian interior designer Bernadette Jacques.

in the quickly-developing island of jeju in korea, high-end residences are being built to give its residents are a leisure house on the paradisiacal
environment. designed by seoul-based firm planning korea, the 'mobius' house is derived from the mathematical anomaly and is nestled within
the gotjawal forest that formed over the volcanic rock, forming part of the new jeju airest city resort. the distinct curved form of the exterior band
makes up the roof, expressed in the interior to maintain consistency with the character of a mobius strip. organized over two stories, the ground
level contains the gallery and living room with the private bedrooms on the second floor. large walls of glass open views to the forest reserve,
using the natural dense vegetation as a partial sun shade.

Architect Olga Freiman completed the design for a modern house located near Moscow, Russia. The residence, depicted in the photos by Manolo Yllera showcases an eye-catching modern style, complete with original details throughout. Defined by steel, glass and wood, the project is both elegant and welcoming. Floor to ceiling windows open up the entire space towards the outdoor terrace and the surrounding green environment, while flooding the rooms in natural light.
