Some new images from the site plan application for this nice design ... a bit of an island* oasis in Etobicoke (*surrounded by multi-lane roads on all sides).

I can think of a couple of waterfront sites east of Yonge where this type of stepped podium + tower would be a vast improvement over what is planned (yes architectsAlliance... talkin' to you).

Still much debate about this rather handsome mixed-use development that is only 100 metres from Keele Station on the Bloor subway replacing a surface parking lot and a Tim Horton’s. But this is High Park afterall, so neighbours and the local councillor want the soaring ;-) 19 storey tower chopped. Give me a break.

NEWS on "The One" height increase:

Looks like Sam Mizrahi and the City will settle on a 6 storey increase instead of 9 storeys (shadow on park issues).

So the deal would see ‘The One’ at 91 storeys and 328.4 metres to the architectural top of the tower. Still a nice height addition… will be interested in seeing what the architects do with it.

@Koops65 - great new SkyTower, The One and other under construction drawings on SSP… which begs the question, when did SSP turn the lights back on again? (no more smudged blobs)

BTW… for bean counters there are 37 towers 150 metres to 328.4* metres under construction in T-Dot. Not too shabby.

*344.58 metres if SkyTower gets its bump.

The snail-pace master-plan here (first released 5 years ago) may actually slow down yet again after an MZO last month effectively doubled the ‘approved’ density here (going from 8,000 to 16,000 residential units). MZOs often fast track projects (usually favouring developer$ ;-) but the pitchforks are coming out about "the doubling" … despite a vague commitment to have a GO Transit station next to the site (closest GO stops are 1.5k and 3k away).
