Isn't that Civic Center proposal really old and outdated?

Yes-- from a few years ago-- much better than the more recent one-- but this isn't real either--

I seem to remember some street retail or restaurants being part of this project. Maybe a coffee shop? However, I don't see any mention of it or any depictions in the renderings. Does anyone know if there will be retail or restaurants?

“I get a call at least once a week from someone,” Braglia said. “It’s not for sale.”

Probably trying to get a competitive atmosphere going to drive up the offers

It looks like Gilbane is going to redevelop the United Way site downtown at 100 Edgewood. (Link: http://www.gilbaneco.com/)

Quote:
Building conversion to multi-family with expansion and minor exterior building and site work.
Quote:
Building Addition - expansion greater than 250,000 square feet
This will most likely be student housing.

5th & Spring and the cheetah parcel are great locations for redevelopment. Cannot wait until they bring more residences, jobs, and retail to the neighborhood.

Anyone know what they're planning on doing with parcel E on the proposed zoning? Parcel E is the small sliver on North Ave on the right layout.

Well, that's boring, not surprising that people are inquiring, but really, that's an article? I think everyone could suspect that developers are looking.

I imagine that the glen iris buildings were designed to preserve the city views for their upper floor commercial tenants in the main building. Aren't they getting something like $20/sq ft for the commercial, but only $3/sq ft for residential? Perhaps I have my numbers off, but it would seem that a new construction commercial office building may not be able to get those numbers (e.g. PCM has lots of character because of the old building) so they don't want to do anything to devalue their existing commercial office space, which is the most expensive in ATL. I know hotels can get pretty high rates, so perhaps a hotel is the only thing worth blocking the view of the commercial properties. Perhaps someone in the real estate industry could elaborate.
