On Dewdney I hear that CN is the main holdup with the rail crossing. Not sure what they will do there if it does not get done this fall.
I walked the north and south sides of Dewdney this morning. Still a lot of multi-use pathway asphalt and bricks to be laid on the southside. No lights or signage either at the 3 traffic intersections and 2 crosswalks. They've been doing a lot of work on the trees recently, but still more to do.
Albert Street, but point stands. I remember a cafe or coffee shop in there I used to go to in high school.

Dropping off light poles at the Grand Coulee exit, going to be lots of lighting. Posts getting installed for the new signage. Starting to pull the concrete pieces out of the creek in AE Wilson Park.
Originally opened in 1927 as an assembly plant for General Motors, the facility’s first cars rolled off the assembly line in December of 1928.
According to records from the Saskatchewan Archives Board, the first all-Canadian-made Chevrolet with a six-cylinder motor was assembled at the plant.
At the height of production, the plant employed 850 workers and had an output of 150 cars a day. Closed in 1931 due to the stock market crash, the plant was reopened in 1937.
Nice day I managed to stop by many places today. Costco pad looks to be mostly on grade, just making small adjustments.
Took off from a different spot near downtown to see if demolition was happening at Albert & 11th, but no one was on site. Drone signal dropped quite a bit as I got over toward broad with the SGI building in the way. It looks like they are calling it quits on the 11th Ave project for the year. Painted a center line despite paving not being complete.
That Neville Drive condo building only sits on half the foundation they built. I guess they had to do that to get enough underground parking. That explains the step down in the concrete pad, will probably be surface parking on top of the underground parking on one side.
Finishing up some sidewalk work near the Arens Road extension. Road lights still weren't up. Road wise The Towns is fully built out and Eastbrook will be done next year. I wonder if council will approve a plan north of Arens in the next year.
The new Harbour Landing school has a very wide set of stairs on the second floor.

Thank you for the amazing updates. If only they got rid of that eye sore at the end of the street and put up a major hotel that would be something else.
[QUOTE=one_brick_at_a_time;10507434]Lorne Street Transit Hub?
Well 11th is sure not set up for buses, or even cars for that matter, but you can see a new bus shelter in gecho's drone video in front of the former HBC and another U/C at BMO. EDIT: I believe the construction at BMO is at their underground parking ramp, so unlikely that is a bus shelter.
I heard a rumour they 'messed' up and the driving lane area isn't wide enough to support buses now anyway. So they whittled away a bit more of the park for a shelter at the corner of Victoria and Lorne. Seems like that's going to be a temporary-permanent thing.
Not sure I like the idea of pulling transit away from the densest worker and most commercial portion of downtown as well as placing it on one of the busier roads (Victoria Avenue) temporarily/permanently.

The Regina Transit Master Plan, adopted in 2022, envisions moving the transfer location off of 11th. This isn't something that just materialized out of nowhere, last week.
It appears that 11th is either open or opening today. At Scarth, the barriers/fencing are gone and the traffic lights are flashing red. I do not see any workers. I have not yet seen any vehicles.

Master Plan:
Quote:
11th Avenue will continue to be
accessible, with a high-quality bus stop, while
the key intersections of Albert Street, Victoria
Avenue and Broad Street, will be encouraged as
the preferred transfer points between services.

I know that, but I don't think it envisioned Victoria as that point either. I'm also not saying I agree with all of that Master Plan. Until they bump up service frequency, changing routes and transfer locations (and stop times at transfer locations) is all detrimental to increasing ridership.
The track record of the city thinking things through is not exactly stellar.

Traffic and pedestrian lights are now fully operating on 11th. Still no vehicles though.
The road was still blocked at Lorne Street and Broad (I think) I didn't walk that far though at lunch today.
It looks nice, although the patchwork of sidewalk stuff is still a mess. Bus shelter at BoM is gone now, but the little one by the Cornwall Professional Building is still there.
They will need to build another shelter on Victoria Park I would think.
Winter is coming. That's going to be a busy and cold place.
