The TOD policy is being expanded to include the bus routes on Chicago (#66) and 79th (#79). Also considering including the routes on Western, Ashland, and others.

4918 N Clark St. NW corner of Clark and Ainslie. 54 units with ground floor commercial space and 29 parking spaces. Replaces a few crappy 1 story auto body shop type buildings and their lots (https://www.google.com/maps/place/49...!4d-87.6683424). Demo permits for this were issued the other day

^ Yeah, I agree. We need about 1000 more of these built all over the city, particularly near transit

That area of Clark is a little weird. Of course not far away is a good section, but it's good to see things like this popping up. Good density replacing something that's low building density wise and essentially close to 0 people density wise. Design is alright..could be worse. I'm glad to see these things happening in some areas. Now I wish there'd be more of it in certain south and west side areas.

Clark from Lawrence to Foster has really improved over the last few years with a few other infill projects taking empty and underutilized lots.

That building is decent, but can we please get something beside that boring brown brick on Clark? More red/orange/blue brick please!

^ yeah, the rendering seems to show a nicely scaled modular brick, but you know there's like a 99% chance we end up with jumbo once it's built.

Moody Bible would learn well from this. The resident to parking ratio is great. The ground floor retail is there. It's a boring design, but it's good from an urban perspective. It's so much better than a wall of windlowless brick.

Whats the chance Civic Opera becomes the next edition of the river light show? Walking past the other day it seems too perfect.

The Mart is on the main branch of the River, which gets a lot more foot traffic after hours than the Civic Opera House. After the afternoon rush, Ogilvie is a bit of a ghost town. The Mart has residential towers near to it. The Civic Opera House does not. I am not opposed to the idea, just thinking through the practical implications. I'd rather see the Wrigley Building get a light show of some kind.

I think lighting up the Civic Opera House (or something similar) could be what the south branch of the Chicago River needs in order to garner more foot traffic and attention.

The large retail component of Willis Tower will be completed next year with a large food hall and more restaurants that will remain open a little later. This could lead to more people in that area past 7:00 p.m.

Chicago Ave Bridge temporary replacement of the Chicago Avenue Bridge - project starts Nov 1. The interim structure will be in place for approximately 5 years, until a permanent structure is erected.
