The rain interrupted the paving in Westerra. No work in the Coopertown field this week. The spot where the Costco building is going was being graded and compacted today. To be doing it in the wet they must plan on construction starting soon. Next step should be to excavate the building foundation footprint.

The weather is looking better for the next few days. Whenever we get these cool damp days it makes me glad I don't live on the coast.

A tender for engineering services for the northwest sewage lift station posted. Includes a pair of very blurry maps. The station will go on the west side of Pinkie Road just north of the rail car plant. Which makes sense as the sewage main from McCarthy runs parallel to the rail line on its south side. Which reminded me of this quirk of the bypass. https://maps.app.goo.gl/JwWQuNXiTJWJxBNX7 The bridges over rail line beside the plant are 2 spans with 1 span just to clear the sewage lines. You'd figure there would have been a cheaper way to do that then building 2 bridges over twice as long as they needed to be.

It also shows the extents of several future neighbourhoods. One interesting thing is apparently that acreage between Diefenbaker and Armour Road with a diagonal tree wind break gets to stay in its entirety. Or its a future fight for the city to expropriate.

The following text was also under the images which corresponds to the blurry text.
Code:
Area 1: Westbrook
Area 2: Coopertown Phase 1
Area 3: Coopertown Phase 2-4
Area 4: Rosewood Park (undeveloped)
Area 5: Rosewood Park (developed)
Area 6: Long-Term Growth Area Adjacent to Pinkie Road
Area 7: Residential Growth Area North of Maple Ridge
Area 8: Westhill (existing)
Area 9: Maple Ridge (existing)
Area 10: Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation
Area 11: Cowessess First Nation
Area 12: Coopertown Long-Term Growth
Area 13: Skywood Phase 1-2
Area 14: North of Skywood
Unrelated a drone picture of the east reservoirs on Westridge's website earlier in the construction than any of the drone shots I have. https://www.westridge.ca/storage/app/med...w23-11-redbear-ave-pumping-station-4.jpg

Thank you for the photos. Are there any other subdivisions in the planning stages?

Starting to continue the under creek pipe in AE Wilson. That should be finished in a day or two then they'll pull all the dirt out of the creek.

Pile driller at the long term care site, and rebar cages being assembled. Road builder is still pouring sidewalks, this time of year they have to cover them with insulated tarps. A loop of road base spread around the building footprint, possibly just temporary for a mud free zone.

Going to need to get over to the Harbour Landing school on a Sunday when they aren't working. With the low Sun I can't good angle on the steel section without being over the site.

This is gonna be an awesome development. Apparently Regina sold a massive amount of pumpkin pie, and they broke a world record with sales at the current Costco site

It's hard to top gecho's amazing drone footage of projects around the city, but here are a few street-level photos of the 11th Ave rejuvenation project downtown, taken yesterday (most from the Bank of Montreal pedway).

I had to go back and re-read the comment to see how you took pictures so high up without climbing light poles.

I think it will be a mix of 1,2 and 3 story sections like the north joint school. Some roof trusses are being installed on single story sections already.

Major Regina office lease buoys Saskatchewan market
Government agency commits to 100,000 square feet at Canada Life Place

Saskatchewan’s office market has received a major boost with the lease of nearly 100,000 square feet at Canada Life Place in Regina, one of the largest commercial real estate transactions in the province in years.

The deal, announced by D'Arcy Skwara, vice-president with Colliers, marks a significant moment for a market that has faced headwinds in recent years due to remote work trends and shifting tenant demands. The lease signals renewed confidence in Saskatchewan’s urban office sectors, particularly in Saskatoon and Regina.

“It’s quite a big deal for Regina,” said Skwara, who was a panelist discussing the office market at the Oct. 16 Saskatchewan Real Estate Forum in Saskatoon. “It’s almost 100,000 square feet which in that market is quite large . . . which will be good for the downtown, keep more jobs downtown. Good for everybody.”

The tenant is eHealth Saskatchewan, a Crown corporation. Colliers represented the landlord side of the transaction for property manager GWL Realty Advisors. The total space leased was 99,220 square feet in the building located at 1901 Scarth Street.

“[COLOR="Lime"]There’s potentially more. We’re working on potentially another deal there, but we’ll know probably in the next couple of weeks,” Skwara said, noting the Regina office market has stabilized.
[/COLOR]
“It’s going to take a while for it to recover but it’s slow progress. Starting to see some properties lease up and a little bit of growth which is great. In Saskatoon, I think it’s the same too,” he said. “A lot of tenants downsized with work from home (during COVID) but people are coming back to work and they need the space. There’s a trend that way.”

eHealth is moving from one location downtown to another. It's not a net gain for downtown.

The good thing ehealth is not leaving downtown. They are taking up 100,000 ft.² and a newer modern Office Tower downtown with a greater presence how many square feet did they take up in Cornwall centre ?

I doubt eHealth ever leaving downtown was even an option. I guess it's nice they're taking space in a mostly empty office tower though. That's a whole lot of empty space in that part of the Cornwall Centre now. I haven't heard a peep about what's going on in that space since The Bay closed their doors and now it's even more space.

I’ve heard rumor that an offer was made. Not sure if approved or if they are waiting on the final HBC liquidation legal process to go through to begin anything.

Like the Sears redeveloped side, they will have to gut it all and remove asbestos and get new HVAC when development comes.

Still levelling out the Costco building area. Must be getting close to the end of pipe installation as they are working in a spot that will be behind the building. Installing pipe across the road at Candy Cane Park.

I was going to stop by AE Wilson but had a not so good landing at Candy Cane park. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYAmKqizql8 No damage other than having to replace the props which was something I was going to do anyway as they were getting a bit rough from having landed in grass more times than I should have.
