So glad this beauty is finally getting spruced up. And to think old man Stroger wanted to knock it down in order to line the pickets of one of his buddies with a no-bid deal to his demolition company. Would have been a massive architectural loss for the city.

Great pics! It’s all good but for that ground floor of Hayden West Loop.

You can’t tell me that West Loopers won’t be wondering “who approved that?” For years to come

So much happening in West Loop. Crazy.

Also, Cook County Hospital is going to look amazing once it's completely power washed. Pretty crazy how much dirt accumulates over the years on these buildings.

It makes me so so so so so happy to see how much of the old building stock is being preserved here in the West Loop. The brick detailing is to die for alone, and the history not being lost just makes me cheefrul

Like others said, Hayden is a disappointment, not sure what is going on with that one, but I'll take one bad egg for now. Can't complain being that somehow this cycle has avoided having projects die so far. Really was worried about Nobu and Mille for some time

Yeah but unfortunately Hayden is the first of two nearly identical buildings approved for that block...

The very least they could have done is put a green wall there. Sure, active storefront would have been ideal, but the base of that building is a giant middle finger to the entire neighborhood. They put sections of green wall on that Circa building further down Washington, and it makes a big difference to their dead wall. Maybe WLCO should push for better street presence than fighting shadows and new neighbors.
