Agreed. I wish the whole development would have moved over a bit to cover that lot. That would have guven the room needed to moved 12th street over (to line up perfectly with the existing road along side 1010 and Skyhouse).

I know I've said it before, but I really hate the way 12th now dead ends on W. Peachtree instead of going all the way to Williams. Now it'll be a permanent nuisance. Sigh.

I thought that the 11th Street site was programmed for a future retail anchor tenant. Nobody would go there now, since there' not the critical mass yet, but it's a great long-term grocer site.

I was under the impression that the idea was to completely align the entire street from Williams to the park as part of the two active projects.

I'm glad there is still a surface lot at 11th and Crescent. This way they'll be able to build something else there in the future.

Anyone have a rendering of this?

^^^Oh goody a kid's word means something.

Here's some NEWS:

1) There is a new light scheme on 1100 Peachtree - orange steps up the corners, and it looks GREAT!

2) 1010 prices seem like they have come up...a sign that inventory has just come WAY down? (referring to the probability that the Atlantic will be rentals)

3) Cucina Asellina is opening this week? Outdoor seating set up. Extensive wine list, limited but good menu. Cold apps $8-12. Hot apps $8-11. Pizzes and flatbreads $10-14. Pasta $11-14. Meats/cheeses $13-14. Desserts $7.

4) Looks like 2 tenants are about to build out in 12th & Midtown as the frosted window advertising was taken off of 2 spaces. Cafe Intermezzo and that Lime restaurant?

5) Dual-branded hotel is on the 6th floor and rising fast.

6) Skyhouse's elevator shaft is rising to the 3rd floor and they are now working on the 2nd floor. Making very fast progress here.

And 7)

THERE WILL BE 2 TOWER CRANES FOR 77 12TH. ONE IS ALONG 12TH STREET AND ONE IS IN THE SW CORNER. LOOKS LIKE SW CORNER MAY GO UP TOMORROW OR FRIDAY AND THE 12TH ST CRANE MAY GO UP EARLY NEXT WEEK!!!!!!!!

Anybody know what's being built on Metropolitan Parkway, just south of I-20? Seems to be a decent amount of site work and a building foundation.

I wish they'd stop building nice towers like this in Buckhead. We need more infill in Downtown and Midtown... sigh

Speak for yourself, I'm glad to have the nice towers in all areas. Especially Buckhead. Buckhead is so clean and not as much rift raft in Midtown and Downtown. Living at Plaza Midtown the past few years, I was glad to leave the filth behind.

^That's odd, Plaza Midtown seems on the up-and-up to me. I certainly wouldn't use the word "filth" in reference to any condo building in midtown.

I think what joecool might have been getting at is that downtown/midtown are already pretty urban and pedestrian friendly, and every new bit of infill helps to make these areas even better. Buckhead is getting there, but it still has a long way to go to match the street-level urbanity of downtown/midtown.

Clearly you've never walked around near 7th and West Peachtree late at night.

I thought that Buckhead vs Midtown vs Downtown bash was old? :-) but now I see it is alive and well. Too bad, because an integrated one love Atlanta does more good for the city, than a divided Atlanta.

The city of Atlanta's "downtown" is in three clumps (downtown, midtown and buckhead). Like a snake that has swallowed three mice at different times. You could also throw in the Perimeter and the Triangle. No doubt that if all these highrises were in the area we call "downtown" ATL it would be a very impressive cityscape. But that is not reality; ATL is a late 20th century city and we shouldn't be surprised at its present layout. The good news is that slowly these "clumps" are growing together and the whole experience of going up Peachtree has changed incredibly in the past 20 years. Also when you go on 400 from Perimeter to Buckhead it seems remarkably close together. In my mind the whole conglomeration is ATL. We should forget about traditional "downtowns."
