That’s Downsview Airport (includes Bombardier lands + Canada Lands) which will be completely redeveloped.
The masterplan called
“City Nature” is led by Henning Larsen Architects, KPMB, and SLA which will eventually convert the entire airport into a “city” with housing for
83,000 people and includes 1million sq metres of commercial/retail space along with
40 hectares of parks.
The first Phase is called the
“Hanger District” which includes nearly 3,000 residential units, 3 million square feet of office and retail ... combined with1.5 million square feet of
retrofitted hangar spaces and 6 acres of park.
