Weird thing to say. Finally a Canadian company getting an international presence on the cheap imported clothes racket.

If there's one other Loblaws product Mexico needs, it's Decadent Chocolate Chip Cookies.

It still does not look like a flagship. Nordstroms just can't get out of that "suburban branch store" look. They need to really ramp up the design in these flagship downtown stores.

It sure beats the Sears that was there before. However I find it quite industrial/utilitarian looking for a downtown "flagship" department store. Maybe thats the aesthetic they're going for now?Not a huge fan of the garish strip flourescent lights and exposed ceiling pipes/utilities.

From a strictly interior design perspective, it pales in comparision to the Vancouver Holt Renfrew imo.

I expect a similar design for the Eaton Center but a warmer more conventional design for the Yorkdale store.

These photos are dark and don't show the more interesting areas of the store. Much better in person.

Yes, my photos were quick iPhone snaps and are rather dark, store is much more 'wow' in person, I will say, however, parts of the men's floor are a little dark and somber and I'm also not crazy about the exposed ceiling on a large part of the second floor but overall the store was light years ahead of Nordstrom stores in the states, far more edgy and progressive and has a great energy and vibe.

So Mac's, a well known Canadian brand, will change to Circle K, a brand known in the United States and I believe areas with Irving gas stations.

What a waste of money just to confuse people. I work in marketing and I am scratching my head at this one.

They had already been consolidating their brands a lot in Canada - perhaps they saw it didn't matter so to save money they went to one. The company has consistently had great reutrns to shareholders for 30 years - I doubt they are making a mistake.
