I had a thought pop in my head the other day regarding the Lou Reed mosaic that was installed a few years ago on the Second Ave. line...the thing no doubt was an under-the-radar reference to the song "Waiting for the man", since the lyrics refer to riding the Lexington Ave. line to 125th St. to buy drugs. Maybe they ought to move the thing there when the new station is built in 10 years...but by then, if not now, I don't think that any young people could conceive of the world depicted in the song.

You're taking a walk on the wild side with that idea.

That's beautiful. Reminds me of parts of the London Underground.

This is the song that probably talks the most about the specifics of the NYC subway, rather than a particular ride as a means to an end:

More free rides? State lawmakers look to triple size of NYC fare-free bus pilot, increase frequency ahead of congestion pricing

By Ben Brachfeld
Posted on March 4, 2024

Two state lawmakers hope to triple the size of New York City’s free bus pilot program and extend it for an additional year under a package of legislation aimed at improving bus service ahead of congestion pricing.

Apples and oranges. Both of which are exceptional fruits for their respective fruit catagories.

In on topic news, looks like Gov. Hochul has ordered up some security theatre for the recent uptick — or perceived uptick — of subway crime including repeated girl on cello player attacks.

This is correct but it didn't take anything away. For example, could you imagine Biz singing Just A Friend properly? I wouldn't want to hear that
