Nice view of downtown Boise looking east , soon # more cranes will be rising a 250'er on 2nd & Idaho for the ICCU tower , one for the New 15 story Marriot hotel on 10th & Grove , and another for the 15 story YMCA apartment building on state glad to see growth reaching out to the linen district west , hopefully soon the 23 story Ovation on Front will announce a ground breaking , and I won't be surprised an announcement regarding a 35-40 + story mixed use building next to the New Marriot U/C now , Glad to see all these projects moving forward I almost forgot probably be 2 crane's for the St. Luke's expansion project 9 stories , Exciting to see !!!

Here's an article I found when I was looking for the name of the new hotel.

I went on a search for some info, I went to Boise's building permit site and I couldn't find anything. So the project is still just in the visionary stages, BUT the project is still listed on Hummel Architect's website, so it's likely still in the pipeline for BVA. My guess is that it will likely start making some movement towards the development process in the next few years, once the new zoning code is fully implemented for all developments.

Also I agree the London did look really cool, it would be better if it wasn't brown like every other high-rise in this city

Although I agree that the "Boise brown" can be a bit much, I think in context to the Ovation it would look pretty alright. Plus, the London has a more metallic look which helps justify it a bit. That said, I'm not holding my breath that the project will move forward. I do hope I'm wrong though.

i believe this is a more recent rendering of the actual dual-brand marriott hotel (image from the statesman):

Yeah honestly looking at it it would be a cool contrast, and I hope both of those projects go up. But honestly I think the London (or a project on that site, it's owned by BVA so they will definitely put SOMETHING there.) is more likely than the Ovation at this point. Also what has the news been like for the Ovation? Last I heard they got an extension on their permit, is there anything new or is that all?

As far as I am concerned there have not been any major updates. They submitted the revision application in early November of last year, and got the approval from the Design Hearing on December 20th, 2023. So really it has only been 2 months since we have heard anything, which seems to be pretty normal for a lot of the major projects happening right now. ICCU went silent for a while and just recently broke ground. Same with 12th and Idaho. I wouldn't be surprised if they break ground/apply for a demolition permit to clear the site in the next few months.

I think The London is gorgeous. Has a really nice style to it IMO. As with most all other projects around here, I would prefer it taller, but beggars can't be choosers. Would welcome the density.

Yeah I agree I think it has some really tasteful modern design to it, I mainly enjoy how it further engages Broad Street, I think Broad is going to end up being another, larger version of 8th street in the coming years with all the new development along the corridor.

The Arthur Apartments
Planning a tour of the building with the building inspector this month. Will post photos, and the information on the concrete pour.

i wonder if the Ovation will get underway once the Arthur wraps up. i know all of these projects are putting a strain on finding enough construction workers.
