"Job 1490: Pereira & Luckman, Western Geophysical Co. of America, 1953". I'm intrigued by "Research Laboratories & Shops" above the door.

The 1956 CD lists the Western Geophysical Co lab & shops at 923 N La Brea Avenue. The March 2014 image (below) shows the building intact and in the hands of Mole-Richardson, a stage lighting company founded in 1927.

Like the Citibank building at Wilshire and La Cienega from a few days ago, we've only just lost this well-preserved building. The GSV image from later in 2014 shows the building being demolished. It looks like the replacement was completed very recently.

Beaudry's
post #22011 was the first one I found. The developers were quick to knock down the Morgan, Walls & Clements structure, but the site is still empty. Here's a 2011 reminder of what was lost.
