Those lights atop the Harbour Plaza twins look great. I do hope that's a permanent feature.

It looks like one if the Eaton Centre Towers right now. Fitting right in with its neighbours.

That lone, shoring rig, just slowly making its rounds on the perimeter of the project.

Work is underway, but I want to see this secret rig they will bring from Europe.

The Site is pretty congested with one rig and a crane. I doubt they'll bring in more.

Honestly, I'm really impressed with how this boom has revitalized all our cities, it's been a real coming of age experience for Canada. If all we get is the existing projects on the ground then I'm well and truly satisfied. The only thing missing for Toronto was a supertall, and we may get one or two by the time this wraps up. Hopefully we focus on stitching the pedestrian experience and street-level aesthetics during the down cycle to finish it all up!

Who knows when that will happen. I thought a correction/slowdown was imminent when Shangri-La, Four Seasons, Trump Tower, and Ritz appeared as proposals almost simultaneously.

Before the One is complete, could be 4 supertalls UC at the same time.

I wouldn't go a far as a coming of age. The condo boom owes much of that "revitalization" in Toronto to its beginnings during the bottom of a deep recession. It has added population to brownfields and parking lots however, the shape of things leaves a lot to be desired. Most of the infill developments and new neighbourhoods are decidedly bland from a community point of view. Coolness has definitely declined during this process and, the decline continues to accelerate, as the boom lingers on. Real estate values demand more and more square footage allowing for less creativity. Projects like Five or Massey should be the status quo. They're not great however, they at least offer something for the pedestrian to explore.

Look beyond the shiny glass of the ICE District and the sweeping architecture of the stadium and pay particular attention to the pedestrian experience. It's a complete bore.

Yep. It's international so it's absolutely impossible to predict. This summer hasn't been good for end user sales at all but we need a few more seasons like this before we can definitively say it's over. Also at play, How long can the rental market hold up the condo market?

Maybe once construction personnel and construction barriers/fences for this active construction site are removed we can better judge?
