There's no need to work through the winter at St. Mary's. They have all summer to get it done.

In addition to the upcoming McGillivray and Ste. Anne's projects, don't forget about the south perimeter Red River bridge rehab/new build study. I'd expect this to be a template of sorts for the future north perimeter bridge project.

I would assume they are going to widen or add another bridge over the river to match the widening of the highway on either side.

I think they will add a new bridge to the south of existing.

At ultimate design, it will be the WB lanes. Existing bridge rehabbed to be the EB lanes.

Prelim design will sort out staging, etc. I also have no clue on timing of this. But there is a lot of other work to be done on south perimeter in advance of requiring the new bridge to accommodate 6 lanes. Maybe they can design it so the deck can be widened in the future.

WB lanes are always the north side and EB lanes always the south side. I think you got the directions flipped and the new bridge would be built to the south for the EB lanes.

Can someone explain the need for the tent on the bridge? I haven't seen this on other bridges. Especially considering it in on in the warmer months.

Maybe theyre pouring concrete and the saw the forecast calling for rain. I think it's supposed to rain tmrw.

Any insiders that might have a revised timeline for the St Mary's interchange completion on here? MTI's page said June 2024 but they are a ways off yet.

They've started some of the major paving (asphalt) sections, such as the WB lanes approaching the bridge and the ramps with that.

they're working 24/7 many times I've been in the area, just how all construction should be. cant believe other major roads like Abinoji arent being worked on at same pace. sunny evening no one in site, tons of rain days too

There was a story in Free Press this week about the project and fall of this year was given as completion.

I think they’ve been giving fall of this year as completion for a little while now as the date when the entire project is forecast to finish. Not too too long ago they had put out a press release estimating that the interchange would enter service in June with only a few minor projects remaining to be completed.

People in the area would probably complain about the extra noise above the normal road traffic they are use to.

Also I don't know if its still a problem but ago the last year or so contractors were mentioning in the Free Press that they can't get labourer's / truck drivers/ heavy equipment operators to work the existing day shifts and that was causing projects to run behind schedule.

Looking at the current state of the project fall seems realistic.
