Article excerpt from cityfeet.com:

"...there will be nearly 50,000 sf of retail space with CVS leasing about 12,000 sf, he tells GlobeSt.com. “It is something needed in the community,” he says of the pharmacy."

Complementing the neighbors.

From YoChicago:

The cost of getting high in Chicago

"Aqua, 225 N Columbus Dr (87 stories)

Floor: 80th
Price: $1.17 million, or $639 per square foot
Size: 1,830 square feet
Views: South
Neighborhood: New East Side

The highest available home at Aqua, by comparison, is almost as high as Trump's, but it's also smaller and priced at one-eighth the cost. Unlike the homes at Trump or The Legacy, this penthouse has exposures in only one direction, but at least it's the right direction. The home has a terrace as well, which will help to expand sight-lines further to the east and west."

I saw that a while back and I laughed, I guess they are basing "almost as high" on the floor it is on not the height? Isn't Trump's penthouse around 200' higher?

^ Great photos, Early Buyer. I do love that painter that Harry also singled out.

Also from your photos, it's starting to hit home that this is going to be one tall puppy.

Senator Biden is anticipated to be headquartered at the Fairmont hotel which may explain the increased security around Aqua.

Well, at least he's holding true to his economic plan

Aside, Is this building going to provide for a grocery store (or is that coming in some of the later buildings). I have not lived in this area, but I have stayed in hotels in the area just off Mich Ave before I moved to the area and I do not remember seeing certain necessities such as grocery stores (althogh I do remember a CVS or two).

Thanks honte and Solar for the compliment.

Nice shot yourself Solar, the reflectivity of the windows with the blue sky create the illusion of looking through the building.

Construction should be starting in spring-time 2009 on the Treasure Island grocery store. . .

The site immediately North of the BC/BS building will be the location of the Lakeshore East Village Market Center, which will have a Treasure Island as the anchor tenant. Until then grocery services (with a more limited selection), are available in the Harbor Tower, The Parkshore and 400 East Randolph buildings, as well as the Park Millennium. The closest full sized grocery is the Dominck's located three blocks North of Lakeshore East at the intersection of Grand and Fairbanks.

Thanks for the updates Early, Solar, Harry.

A shot from my perspective from earlier today

A bit more lens power allowed me to better appreciate the mechanicals floor and to the discovery in the next shot

I didn't see these additional balcony supports(?) until enlarging my photos today!

Shots of the stairs from above and to the south

Some more of the corner railings

The podium ?recessed section? (unsure of the correct term) with the windows visible on the floor below
