Huge garage if that's what it is. Could it be a lane way mansion? lol

I was thinking the same thing. Nice to have a little guest suite above the carriage house. That's definitely something I'd consider if I ever got a new place.

Calgary is now home to the largest CNG transit facility in North America
https://dailyhive.com/calgary/calgar...-north-america
Quote:
With the opening of the Stoney Transit Facility on March 12, Calgary became home to the continent’s biggest facility focused on environmentally beneficial Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses, according to a release from the City of Calgary.
<>
The facility comes in at a whopping 44,300 square metres and has enough room to house over 470 40-ft-long buses — many of which are brand new additions to YYC’s fleet.
<>
“Investments in transit are among the best investments any city can make — they are investments in the environment, reducing congestion and improving mobility.”
<>
The capital cost of the project came in at $174 million, with $46.9 million coming from the Federal Government.

“This funding is critical to our long-term plans for Calgary’s transit system,” said Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi in the release.

“Adding Light Rail Vehicles and CNG buses to our fleet will help ensure our system is resilient into the future. This is great news for Calgary.”

Too bad they have tarp all around the mansion, can't see what's going on. In the back it looks like a garage with a mother in-law-suite on top.

Feds commit $166M to BMO expansion project

CBC News · Posted: Mar 12, 2019 2:13 PM MT | Last Updated: 18 minutes ago

The federal government will contribute $166.6 million toward the BMO expansion project, Minister of Infrastructure and Communities François-Philippe Champagne announced Tuesday.

The federal money will come from the New Building Canada Fund, while the Government of Alberta and the City of Calgary are also providing $166.6 million each through the extension of the Calgary Rivers District Community Revitalization Levy. The Calgary Exhibition and Stampede Ltd. has previously committed $3.9 million.

I doubt that’s a garage they’re building, there’s no garage doors on it.

It's great news. I can't see too many people being opposed to this project as we've needed a much larger convention space for decades. Tied in with a modern arena, an entertainment district and a great airport it should be able to generate a lot of revenue for the region.

Maybe it's on-site housing for the staff.

No, a large convention centre does not need to be "tied in with a modern arena". Plus, when you're talking economics, convention centres bring in external dollars into a city, whereas arenas simply are ways for people already in the city to use their money (not bringing new economic benefit whatsoever).

You sure love to make absolute statements. Arenas can also be used to host meetings and conventions and large conventions often have entertainment that's associated with them that's only for the attendees. In these cases arenas definitely help to attract huge conventions. I just hope that we're not thinking too small by only going for a 1 million square foot convention center.

If that's a garage, the doors should be on the northern side which you can't see from the camera location, which looks like its on 4th St NW, looking westward.

There’s no ally way behind those houses, so the vehicles would have to come in from the east side.
