Let's remind everyone that was for a homemade render person in which someone popped a 1950s housewife's head on a skimpy bikini. Dude. I was criticizing the artist. Well, this is SSP. Some also get offended when I criticize planning and architecture in my comic genius.

We finally have a super tall under construction and were obsessing over a comment that isn't PC enough for some. Can we move in already?

No climax with this going down. That's as deep as they'll go. You can see the old basement floor.

Maybe you take a break from the language that's irritating a number of people here. I'm not sure what you get out of fanning the flames all of the time?

And I beg to differ, there will be a huge pay off from this digging even if its only the basement dug out last week. You can't dig down deeper before breaking through the old foundations. Also they started to dig on the south end of the site. They are prepping the site for the ceremonial ground breaking ceremony that will be held after labor day. Are you still irked this tower is starting to become reality after years of bashing it's developer and saying this day would never come???

From number one instigator to forum moderator. That's quite the 180.

Sure. That's what I've said all these years. Never said the retail is a go no matter what given this location. I'm still going to be critical of Mizrahi's methods if he completes the supertall. I'm still going question whether he can pull it off. It's just becomes more serious as the project progresses to shoring. It would be a damn tragedy to have this stall out as a stagnant pond. Fortunately, we go back to retail.

Posted this in the proposal page by accident.

The One's website has been updated. It shows a much more detailed look at the cladding that will be on the residential floors. Looks really slick.

The heck is going on in this thread....uh...

Anyways...Edmonton is looking great...and uh, good to hear from 1 Bloor West....though some of the renders look stretched out at best...though I understand the developer wanted to show the angles this project would be shown from. Good to see the podium still kept in an interesting design from Yonge street....not sure with Bloor...

Don't be too optimistic now! The reality is, if this project sells well (80%+) I really can't see it not happening. They have the approvals, the demand, and the money. I guess there's always the chance of something not materializing but my gut instinct says this one will go through.

if the website is updated, are they gonna build this podium?
http://onebloorwest.com/gallery/image-7

in the new renders released few weeks/months ago they changed the podium.

To quote my oldest SSP colleague: Money talks; bullshit walks

They have approvals.
This is a very expensive "supertall". Demand and/or presales are far less important at this groundbreaking scale.
Show me the money. (i.e. you're making that up)

Do we know they have enough money to get this project started at this point? Or will they play with the dirt for show.

We have insiders at other projects, like CIBC Square... isn't there anyone on The One site that can tell us how things are really progressing?
