i cant see them replacing the seats for another decade or 2 lol MTS is a busy building but If the ACC can get 15 years out of theirs than winnipeg should get 20

Ya maybe. Just thinking the green seats with beige walls matches the Moose colours fairly well. If they want this arena to Jets-ified, seats need to be changed. Maybe they'll do it at the end of the 6 year thing. Which would be roughly 15 years.

It's the same as with the airport terminals... the old one would have looked right at home in any big city back in the 60s. It felt pretty big-time, and it could have easily been one of the terminals at JFK or LAX. By contrast, the new terminal could only be in a smaller city like Winnipeg.
This comment is on point. Also, I remember the dancing hotdog and was there also a dancing puck? Sometimes they would even have a player's face crudely outlined with the lightbulbs.

I really liked the jet that would fly across. Also remember the hotdog. The puck might have been elsewhere, but I was only 10 when the jets left. Also like the whiteway name above the time clock, thought it was a cool term. Good memories anyhow!

5 of 6 points for jets 2.0 on the road trip. Success.

A success, but not relatively. Every other team did just as well including Minnesota, who are now only 2 points behind having played 3 fewer games. We're a different, but no better team than last year. The team needs to make some moves to get better, but I feel like they're convinced their improved defense and goal-tending has made them good enough. It hasn't.

As for the green seats, the color doesn't really make a difference if it matches to the team or not. Just look at the green seats at the Saddledome in Calgary and the variety of different colored seats at the ACC in Toronto. Doesn't really matter at all

When you make $14,000 a day, what else are you supposed to do with your money?

.........he might want to practice scoring some goals though

This is the main problem with Kane. If he wasn't such a show boat all the time, he would get a bit more leniency with his hockey skills. Posting stacks of cash again is just stupid, especially in the middle of a hockey season when you're supposed to be focusing. Like I said before, he's quite good a posting beach and topless shots of himself. not many goal scoring shots of him around though.

If I were him, I'd be preserving that shit. Under-developed talents with bad attitudes generally aren't earning those second and third big contracts and more than one athlete has burned through $35MM before his 30th birthday.

I remember listening to an interview with Jalen Rose one time who said that the first contract is nothing more than a very expensive lesson. You live on the second, and the third is what sets your family's family for life. Now, Jalen Rose was earning $17MM/year by his third contract, so that may not necessarily be the case for everybody, but one should be able to live on $35MM for the rest of their life. And they probably would if it didn't come to them at 21 years old.

The seats are the last of the "jets-ified" lack in MTS. Theirs the "Home of the winnipeg jets fueled by passion" banner on the press box expansion but either than that their is really nothing that stands out to say this is definitely the Jets building. Tampa bay has the tesla coils, Edmonton has the oil derrick, Detriot with the giant squid, Calgary has the huge flame that busts out when they score, Columbus has the canon, san hose has the shark head. even Atlanta had the big bird heads floating by the jumbotron. Some buildings speak for themselves. (bell centre,Td gardens, consol) and some are Multi tenant buildings so you cant do to much. But True North is in a different position for 2 reasons. The Jets are the only tenant AND The Jets are probably the easiest NHL team to dress up a building for. Something should Happen in MTS when they score that has to do. Something to do with a CF-18 should be incorporated into the bowl. Any Ideas?

^ Stuff like a fighter jet in the rafters just reeks of ECHL marketing gimmicks circa 1998. I'm OK with the absence of that kind of stuff.

I'm not a fan of that cheesy stuff either. I'm more referring to an action that happens when they score

I think it's sooooooooooooooooooo cheesy, that oil derick. It's not even hidden or anything, just lifted up and tilted sideways. Tacky tack tackerson. Most places with gimmicks need the gimmicks to attract fans. save for Edmonton. not sure why they're still hanging on to that. Hopefully they wont bring it with to the new ice palace. If the new rink isn't called an ice palace, it should be.

I'm fine with the Jets hanger type warnings. Siren going, red lights flashing. Some smoke maybe. Not jet fighters in the rafters please. Not even sure if MTS is large enough for that, would be blocking the scoreboard for half the arena.

Lol Edmonton is on an 8 year playoff drought and 10 game losing streak and would still sell out a 20k seat building im sure the oil derrick isn't whats attracting fans. I dont like the sirens because a lot of NHL teams do that. I still think something is missing in MTSC. I really wish they would get the moose banners out of the rafters. I get the history bla bla bla but its an NHL building now. Where ever that team ends up (thunderbay) should have those banners

If so, that is quite an indictment of the common sense of the people of Edmonton.

Speaking of Edmonton, will it be 11 in a row tonight for the Oilers?
