Rambler has a huge footprint for just a seven story building in WC.

These are the six tallest WC projects proposed or U/C. 1900 Guadalupe should make the list soon when we get more info.

What's the matter with you? Can't you see it's multi-family?

Not sure if it’s current status but the parking garage at MLK & San Antonio may be demolished for a high-rise once St. Austin Parish’s new digs is complete.

This is an older layout for the campus but you can see they had plans for the garage.

Interesting that that plan also called for a student housing tower fronting Guadalupe just south of the church. I wonder if that was scraped when they were allowed to go taller with the tower on San Antonio.

Does anyone know what's going on with the Woo? (Goodall Wooten) The commercial units are vacant, and it appears the units may be as well.

My least favorite building in all of Austin, happy to see it go one day.

I share the sentiment - though I do like that it's an legacy example of good mixed use development for low-income/student housing.

IIRC American campus bought it out this past year. The rental units had been off the market since 2018, I think, but some tenants had extended leases that were broken sometime last year with a buy-out? I know the commercial leases ended this past fall - I used to go to Alante to get my eyebrows threaded

Lots of nostalgia for the Woo. It's by no means pretty to look at but it had character and was unique. Time marches on.

Way back in the day (mid-1960s), Goodie-Woo gave hope to the this fledgling urbanist that a high(er)-rise Austin might emerge one day.
