I saw a YouTube add for the city of Edmonton that had the camera following a cyclist on some really nice elevated wooden pathways in the river valley. At the end the camera panned up and showed the dt skyline.

I’ve been trying to figure out where it was shot but I honestly have no clue. Anyone know where this could be? Looked to be southwestern given the orientation of the skyline but I’ve never been on a bike trail as nice as in that ad.

Reddit to the rescue. Someone else had the same question and answers were found.
Maybe reddit isn’t the hive of scum and villany as I had thought.

As with some of the comments in that reddit thread, some of the trails in the river valley are absolutely phenomenal.

This past Saturday, I discovered some amazing trails I have not yet seen between the Terwillegar dog park and the Anthony Hendey river crossing, and south of the Hendey beside Westpointe neighbourhood. Not talking about the wide gravel trails, these were intense up and down extremely narrow muddy trails. It was a workout and a half, so awesome..

Was on Bottle rocket last week and loved it. Covered about 3/4 of the trails this year. Nice to be able to not have to drive 3hrs to get some good skills in. Try trailforks for the trail list.

By the way, there's an Edmontonian youtuber called The Loam Ranger that you guys should check out. He doesn't do much about Edmonton but I like what he's producing on mountain biking elsewhere.

rode Logrythem and BDSM on my cross bike a week ago.

Also did Sixshooter, quite shocked by how long it felt for such a short section. And Machete is way to much fun.

I discovered sixshooter last summer. What a gem in the heart of the city, so unexpected! It's a great practice ride to learn how to really ride single track, it flows very smoothly.

Beauty! Are there sensors to activate the pedestrian crossing signal or are cyclists expected to obey the stop sign like a vehicle?

These proper seperated bike lanes really are well done. Can’t wait to see more expansion.
Next year I believe will Focus on south of the river but the year after I would love if they worked on connecting the various bike Infrastructure we have. As of now a lot
Of it dead ends and does not connect with each other.

I’m scared that Western Cycle might be closing for good. They don’t have a new location lined up, they don’t need to be out of their new building for at least a couple years but they’ve almost completely cleared out.

On the plus site I got 3 great bikes on awesome deals... for other people in my household, I was too late for me. No large or xL bikes left at all.

Six Shooter is a favorite of mine too. Check out Lovers Lane on the other side of the river - it parallels groat road. Also connect with Victoria's Secret.

There's great single track throughout the river valley. Gold digger and hustler, pipedream and the Science Park stuff on the east end are well worth checking out.

Upper Ewok, Caddy Track, Andre's Trail/Happy Endings...

sooo many good trails here. Too bad the city wants to keep these trails unsanctioned, and not allow any way-finding or trail signage for these trails. We have an amazing mountain biking city here, many tourism opportunities for the city they could promote, but they are too interested in maintaining the status quo.

Bottle Rocket out By E L Smith. BDSM and Logrythem. and Machete all great trails.

Back in the 60s-70s when we used to ride our Mustang bikes to the river, Lovers lane was known as Devils Path. Otheing that is happening now that is disturbing is the number of trails that are being modified to make them easier or are being ripped up. all trail are maintained by the Mountain Bike Alliance with permission of the city. so the asswalds that are damaging the trails are doing it illegally.

Check Alberta Cycling Association ,events. Or check either Red Bike or ERTC sites.novice and single event licences can use mountain bikes. All others need to use a cross bike.
