Also construction of the new elementary school at the NE corner of Regiment and Pack Rd is progressing with the 2nd floor concrete block walls moving along quickly now.

London District Catholic School Board to express our full support for
the removal of the property, 1927 Richmond St., London, Ontario, from the Register of Cultural Heritage Resources list.

The Board is in negotiations to purchase this property and build a new High School. The first step is getting it removed from the heritage list.

I find this kinda hilarious, seeing as the TVDSB had 2 schools in Lucan and closed the one down, and now they are building another one. It's like no one there ever plans long term.

But speaking of, I saw my old elementary school (Sir Arthur Carty, White Oaks Area) is crazy packed now. There is about 12 or so portables outside alone.. and then inside they have about 20-22 classrooms. Seems like it's overdue for a new school in the White Oaks area. I remember 20 years ago, the school only had about 10 or 12 classes in total.

The new St Gabriel Catholic Elementary School off Buroak Dr in NW London is making progress with the parking lot now paved and the playground portion. The grass area has already been hydro seeded. But the most unbelievable thing they have already done is setup two portable classrooms and this school will likely not open until the new school year next Sept.

The school will actually open in January 2025. The students that will be attending the new school are currently sharing space at St. Catherine of Siena (near Sunningdale and Richmond).

Maybe those portables are for temporary use if students are starting there in 6 weeks. Maybe certain areas won't be ready yet so they could be using the portables for that use until the building is 100% complete.

Feel sorry for the janitors then as they will be in a constant battle cleaning the mud from the kids tracking it indoors every day.

There will never be 'neighbourhoods' surrounding this school, it's all protected agricultural / environmental land and is very far south of the Urban Growth Boundary.

A site-plan application has been filed for a new catholic elementary school in the northeast end of the city south of Sunningdale and west of Highbury.

It will be off of Stackhouse Ave and is a part of the next phase of the Stoney Creek subdivision that was approved by the Ontario Land Tribunal last year.

PEC votes to remove house from heritage list. Next step full council. After that the Catholic School board will need Ministry of Education approval and funding to actually build it.

Concrete footings and foundation walls now being poured for the new Catholic High School on the Regina Mundi site on Wellington Rd. They have been working here for a while and progress has been slow in contrast to a number of other new build school projects in the area.
