The closeups of the facade look great. This is going to be a nice addition to a beautiful area.

Base is nice, but the tower reminds me of Mitchell Lama housing.

Public Hearing on Plans for Huge Tower at 388 Hudson Street and Tony Dapolito Center
Wednesday at 6:30pm — Testify + Send Letters!

Quote:
The City will give an update in a public hearing about plans for an approximately 350-ft.-tall tower at 388 Hudson Street tied to plans to demolish the landmarked Tony Dapolito Recreation Center at Community Board 2’s Land Use Committee on Wednesday, March 11 at 6:30 pm. Before leaving office, Mayor Adams signed off on plans for the oversized, aggressively noncontextual tower, which will now require approvals by the new administration and the City Council.

The oversized plan put forward by Mayor Adams assumes the Tony Dapolito Recreation Center across the street will be demolished and replaced in whole by a new recreation center that will fill multiple floors at the base of the building. When running for Mayor last year, then-candidate Mamdani said if elected he would restore and reopen rather than demolish the Dapolito Center.
Quote:
Village Preservation is calling for the 388 Hudson plan to be rethought, with the Tony Dapolito Recreation Center preserved, the height of the proposed tower reduced, and the design made more contextual to its surroundings, and guarantees provided for the permanence of the affordable housing at this site (which have not yet been offered).
