Any idea on timeline for when businesses may open? Summer/fall 2025?

oh how I wish this was going in there, rather than the usual suspects. Absolutely the perfect spot for it as well.

Pouring concrete for the foundation footing walls on the building fronting Fanshawe near the dealership. Also pouring more of the Food Basics foundation footings. No signs of any activity on finishing Blackwell Blvds connection thru to Highbury yet. You would think they would want that built before the business start opening and I would expect traffic lights at Highbury with proper turn lanes as well.

Good point. I’m wondering if they’ll have lights at Blackwell on Highbury and Rob Panzer on Fanshawe.

More structural steel now up for the units to the east of the Food Basics. Also forming for the footings for the fast food restaurant on the corner of Fanshawe and Highbury has started.

Exterior wall steel studs now going up on the new Food Basics building. Should see the structural steel for the new building at the corner soon with the foundation footings and walls now poured.

Steel has gone up for the new building right at the corner of Highbury and Fanshawe, which will have a McDonalds

Here is an updated site-plan: https://www.westdellcorp.com/wp-content/...y-Creek-Commons-OPTION-2-SITE-PLAN-1.pdf

Not that much different from the one I posted back in the summer... other than a few new additions. And it looks like Starbucks has been postponed to a later phase of this development, which means there will be a vacant drive-thru restaurant.

I wonder what else could go in the drive-thru spot.... wouldn't think it'd be another coffee shop or burger place due to contract rules with Starbucks and McDonalds.

Actually.... I had a closer look today when driving by on Highbury, and I noticed that only half the building is being constructed. If you look at the site-plan, the building will have 2 units, with one of them being McDonalds. For some reason, the McDonalds portion is not being constructed.

I wonder if it will be constructed soon or as part of a future phase.

Yeah I thought it looked a bit strange too. Would not be surprised the McDonald's half on the north side is on hold.

That latest site map shows that unit beside McDonalds as not leased, strange to build it but not the McDonalds adjacent. Why build it and then have to dig up beside it to build McDonalds later? I think either the McDonalds isn't happening, or it's what is being built now and the other unit isn't happening.

Exterior cladding on the buildings fronting Fanshawe moving along with a lot of the windows now installed. The new Food Basics and attached portions are also getting the exterior work treatment.

Odd that they wouldn't have done the McDonald's at the same time as the adjacent building, unless something has changed on it.
