More pavement pounding. I think I did 80k steps in 3 days with Doors Open Ottawa in the mix.
Such a handsome building. That security camera conduit can take a walk though.
Somehow.. someway... I have never fully walked through the arboretum before. I never knew how many unique species of trees there are.
I've recently noticed a bunch of trees around town that have a steel cable supporting some branches. Paying attention is fun.
For all the shortcomings of Ottawa on a governing and decision making level... it really is one of the nicest cities I've ever been to if you like green stuff. We are so blessed. Confluence of 3 rivers, a canal, a man made lake and as much hiking as you could ever want with the Gatineaus.
Having never seen Carlton campus from this vantage point before I was thinking how large it seemed from here. Carlton is interesting compared to UofO as its very compact and isolated. UofO kind of spills over into the surrounding neighborhood while Carlton feels like a City State in comparison.
I like Uni campuses. Often times if my destination is Rideau/Market area and its a nice day I will get off the train at University and walk through the campus. It's a nice pedestrian friendly accessible area without linear fenced off pathways. Like a grid of spaghetti that lets you travel anywhere, easily and safely. The rest of the city should take notice.
