Organized chaos. Elon was cool letting the videos go on. I believe he just asked that the drone keeps a respectable distance. On the bonus video, I don't think that backhoe was the best choice for tree removal. Not very efficient.

man, i wish i did. it was always a rumor from a not well known source. I "fished" for another corroborating source, as to not make too much of an ass of myself.

I actually saw a different source on airliners.net recently state the same thing, to go along with those who have mentioned it here. Hoping there are too many clues for it not to happen.

Didn't Musk mention on the last earning's call that in the near-to-medium term they weren't looking at moving the HQ, but that it's definitely something they're considering? To me the take away was, "dont expect it to happen in the next 12 months, but anything after that is on the table..."

It makes complete sense given all the Musk-related commercial activities taking place in Texas now that they would move it (returns on agglomeration and all that). But, there is a lot more corporate inerita to deal with in moving an HQ v/s constructing a new factory. Tesla (and SpaceX's) biggest asset right now is their human capital, and ability to attract that; something Elon's acutely aware of. I'm sure they're looking at that closely before making any call.

Moving a HQ from a heavily taxed state to one in which is quite light on corporate taxations isn't very simple. In general, moving a HQ is not an easy task or a quick process.

California is going to fight too-and-nail on any move.

In any case - even if Tesla has decided to move its HQ to Texas, the process itself is going to take a while. So, Musk cannot really say anything at this point in time. He's obviously kept the door wide open for a move.

The site plan (well, 18 pages of it anyway) was added to the permit. There isn't much info about the buildings. There were some attachments added to another permit a couple weeks ago with more info about the buildings, but they were removed shortly thereafter, and I didn't have them downloaded yet
