Kind of neat this building will just disappear from Carling once the Champagne 2 building is done. No shortage of density there when you figure those two brown granite commercial towers and the mid rise (gorgeous) red brick/black glass buildings next to them.

Is there any plan for the underused parking lot to the south of Champagne? I don't recall coming across anything on here.

I'm conflicted if I want those future buildings to step down or step up.

I think I want them to step down to roughly the same height as the brown granite fellas. It would give a more gradual cascading pyramid approach to the neighborhood. Then again it would be a good spot for 125M towers in the sense that it wouldn't be intruding on anyones home?

Do NIMBY's only exists in SFH? Do the poor bastards in Champagne 1 not have any say?

I used to be able to grow basil on my balcony planter.....

I think they are about to pour the final floor now. It's a pretty large building! I wish it was a just a couple of floors taller to add some variety to that block.

I'm a little worried about their capacity to serve thousands of new residents AND the mega hospital. Not too worried though, being a wildly successful cash-only business, I'm sure they've got millions in untaxed cash sitting there ready to pay for an expansion

Just think of all the added revenue for the City of Ottawa via parking tickets! We used to go there for lunch often and there was always a by-law guy sniping people

That place has been a bylaw honeypot for 20 years. It's the Ottawa equivalent of the Le Nordik expired Ontario plate honeypot (scam) the MRC police have been running since the place opened.

Looks to be just about topped out now. I'm really hoping to see that angled roof feature next.

This thing went up pretty quickly.

Really unfortunately that alll 3 of those buildings in that block are similar size, density & height. Would've been to see a shorter podium & higher slimmer tower on the north end to give some separation between the buildings.

I agree. Podiums and slim point towers should be law, not just a suggestion.

Wish this one's height was between Domicile's mid-2000s tower and SoHo Champagne I.

Totally agree with the two comments above. There is no reason this had to take up the whole block. It could have been a 24-30 story building with some greenspace, Vancouver style, or it could have been a human scaled podium with a taller tower above, also Vancouver style. I am glad, however, that it is noticeably taller than it's neighbour.

The roof feature should add another faux story and give it a little more gap on the building next door.

Rendering we hadn't seen before. Looks good. Nice infill. Nothing earth shattering, but that's not what I would expect for a smaller project amongst what will one day be a top-tier skyline.

I hope they keep that interesting roofline/feature that was in the original render. It sorta seems like it in this new one but the angle doesn't really show it well.
