Interesting that Riverside Resources is (potentially) behind the new apartment tower. They backed 5th & West as well.

I know a few people in the restaurant industry and I learned this:

- Frank & Angies and Huts are owned by the same family. Their son works at both places.

- The same person who owns the liquor store owns all three properties (FnA, Huts, Liquor Store).

- Over the last several years Huts received more attention from the owners (menu tweaks, maintenance, etc.)

- Take everything you hear with a grain of salt.

I thought Hut's was overrated almost 60 years ago. Did they get a new cook since then?

Is that good or bad..."ain't no punk" when referring to food?? I can't keep up anymore. Thanks for making me feel older than I am Dcbrickley.

New elevations dated 03/08 were released. The project gained 3' but I don't see much change to the design.

He's saying it's good.

I've only been to Hut's once. I remember their onion rings were pretty killer.

At Hut's: #13, Milner's I think it's called, with mushroom gravy, is really good.

Kind of a bummer. I used to eat there a lot when I lived downtown. Food was good, inexpensive and unpretentious. We really don't have a lot of this kind of Italian food down here in Texas.

But as long as this building has retail (ideally a restaurant) on the first floor and good street activation, it is almost certainly a net benefit.

Do we know if anything is happening to Irene's? I'd mourn that even more. There aren't many other patio restaurants downtown.

Site plan filed for 506 West Ave. Project Name is 506 West Residential. Is this a known project? Do we have a thread for this one yet?

https://abc.austintexas.gov/public-s...ertyrsn=128600

Edit: Address points to where Irene's is currently but I'm assuming it will include more than just this small plot.

Eeeeenteresting. No, no thread that I've seen. There'd been rumors of this tower for a while but there's been nothing at all publicly mentioned for . . . 3 or 4 years now?

I believe this would be an updated version of what was once known generically as the West Ave Residential Tower from a few years ago. No site plan was filed and it disappeared. There may be a thread for it somewhere.

You're right there is one. Found it on Page 4. Was going by West Ave Apartments. Should someone update the thread title?

Riverside Resources was behind the original version of this project, and they still own the site.

Updates to the site plan indicate that this will be 400' with 350 dwelling units and two restaurants.
