Curious to see the revenue generated by these I think it has been a while since they released that type of data.
I cross Wharncliffe / Bostwick a few times a week and it does appear that the average driver is more conscious about not blowing through as the light is turning red.

They need to start using them in major intersections like Richmond and Sunningdale, or Wellington & Commissioners.

I like the use of roundabouts but turning Wellington & Commissioners into one is just asking for trouble.

Roundabout design and considerations are complex. At certain traffic volume levels they no longer offer any benefits. Wellington and Commissioners is most likely well above the volumes for a roundabout.

^ I concur. Plus, extremely busy roundabouts are horrible for pedestrians, cyclists, etc.

I didn't event think of how bad it would be to cross a roundabout like that

It would be impossible from a pedestrian aspect to cross as that intersection has constant volume. They would need to build pedestrian overpasses

Funny. I was trying to go down Western Rd from Masonville to a business near Oxford and Wharcliffe this afternoon. There was 2 spots of construction on the southbound side where they had it down to a single lane. Took me 20 minutes to get from Windermere to Sarnia Rd. I was curious why it was taking so long at get through Sarnia Rd, so while I was sitting there, I pulled up the stopwatch app and timed the lights. Southbound was getting 20 seconds, northbound was getting that plus however long the advanced green was, and Sarnia Rd was getting a minute. There was hardly any traffic going northbound and most of the traffic going by me was what I could see turning left from Sarnia. Frustrating with that quick of a light added to if someone is turning right they have to wait for pedestrians and people behind can't get by them. It would be awesome if our traffic computer had the ability to tie into waze or something and maybe favour the heavier direction of traffic and help move things along a bit.

no turns onto Sarnia from Western Road yesterday at rush hour. Insanely backed up traffic.

This intersection arguably already has the worst daily traffic jams (evenings 4-6pm) in the city. 20 minutes, sometimes more, just to go from the Springett Parking lot next to Huron to the corner of Western/Sarnia. I hate, hate, hate this intersection.

for some unexplained reason, there is no consideration of a scrambled pedestrian crossing.

Single source 1 year extension to the Traffic Light network contract.

"A Limited Tendering (single-source) procurement is required to authorize a one-year extension of the City’s Network-as-a-Service cellular communication services contract with Desklinx Inc. This additional year will maintain continuity of traffic signal operations and align future procurement timelines while a new competitive process is developed."
