This is a gorgeous tower, but that enormous parking garage at the base ruins it.

861-Foot Solar-Powered Brickell Tower Moves To Construction Permitting

Quote:
A construction permit application for a 71-story tower in Brickell was just submitted to Miami’s Building Department.

The tower will become one of the tallest in Miami, at 861 feet above ground.

It will also be the world’s the first residential high-rise in the world partially powered by the sun, the developer says, with 500 photovoltaic-integrated windows.

According to the March 10 construction permit application, a total of 189 condos will be built, along with a six level parking garage.

Total hard construction cost is estimated at $144,319,176.

A demolition permit for an existing 10-story office building on the site was applied for in January and is in review.

John Moriarty is listed as the contractor on the new construction permit application.

The building is being designed by ACPV Architects led by Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel, with architecture by Arquitectonica.

Ytech is the developer.

Oh man, this one just keeps getting better. The west-facing side is all glass, no balconies. Phenomenal.

Fantastic. This is a good building. It would be even nicer though without the standard, massive Miami parking podium. If Miami wants to look like a real city and not a tropical version of Charlotte or Dallas, it must eliminate these ridiculous, gigantic garages, which kill street-level vitality.

Foundation work has commenced.

Foundation Work Underway for The Residences at 1428 Brickell

https://floridayimby.com/2025/04/foundation-work-underway-for-the-residences-at-1428-brickell.html
Foundation work is underway for The Residences at 1428 Brickell, where recent aerial imagery reveals a fully cleared site with heavy equipment actively engaged in early-stage construction activity. Developed by Ytech and designed by ACPV Architects in collaboration with Arquitectonica and Magnusson Klemencic Associates as the structural engineer, the 70-story tower—billed as the world’s first high-rise partially powered by solar energy—is set to rise 861 feet over Miami’s Financial District. John Moriarty & Associates is the general contractor.

Photos show active drilling operations led by Malcolm Drilling, whose blue rotary drilling rigs are positioned centrally on the site. Additional support equipment, including a crane and various excavation machinery, surrounds the core operation area. Rebar cages are laid out in multiple rows across the southwest corner of the site, suggesting preparations for upcoming deep foundation elements such as auger cast or drilled shafts.

This is a beautiful tower, and it will complement the new Santander building across the street.

First Crane Installed At 861-Foot Luxury Condo Tower In Brickell
In Brickell, an under construction 70-story tower is getting its first crane installed.

The cranes will eventually reach a height of over 1,000 feet above ground.

The development is known as 1428 Brickell and will have 195 luxury residences.

The condo tower is planned to have a permanent height of 861 feet above ground, making it one of the tallest in Miami.........

This tower plus 75 Broadway, Santander, Cipriani, Mercedes, Ora, and Citadel are all fairly close. They will be very nice additions to the south end of the Brickell area. It's a shame that the horrendous BK isn't being redeveloped.

This tower needs to be in the U/C section. They are close to starting vertical construction.
