It looks like a demented candy cane. I miss architecture, nothing about this qualifies.

I'll just quote from the article in the OP.

To be clear, the design right now is strictly conceptual.

So...... in other words, this may change.

I like the design, although it is most likely only concept. I am worried this area will become oversaturated with blue glass towers.

Did a quick query for this: Nothing major as of now for this parcel that I'm aware of...

I could be misremembering but I think there was a conflict here with Kaufman's Hudson Rise at 470 11th Avenue. Either it was the air rights are jumbled up for who gets to build what or the two sites as proposed actually overlap. It looks like they're adjacent sites but the Hudson Rise Hotel has a pretty substantial base. Either way i'm pretty sure the Americano Hotel rendering is just a vision, and I don't think Kaufu aims to develop their property any more, so maybe a deal will be struck. This is going to be a crazy dense block when all is said and done.

Looks like there were ownership disputes.

The stalled "Hudson Rise" hotel.

Two addresses put it at the general similar location view street view (back in mid 2019)
