Wow. Great photo thread. For all the Jax-Detroit trips I've driven on I-77, I had no idea a downtown that size was a short distance from the highway.

Eg - Sorry, I've run out of towns on this trip.

Lake - it's amazing what you can stumble upon just off the interstates.

That town seems to be part of the landscape. It's odd how the buildings butt right up to hillsides.

Splendid! How is it that I never heard of this place? I also love gritty Appalachia (I read all the articles on the topic in National Geographic going back to the 1940s)
